NEET Eligibility Criteria 2024
The eligibility criteria for NEET are as follows:
- Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Foreign Nationals.
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit for NEET is 17 years as on December 31, 2024. There is no upper age limit.
- Educational Qualification – The candidate must have passed the 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects.
- Attempts – There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET.
Application Form
Here is the step-by-step process to apply for the NEET 2024 examination.
- Visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) at https://neet.nta.nic.in/ and click on “Registration” to create a new account.
- Fill in your basic details such as name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number. You will receive a registration number and password on your registered mobile number.
- Using the registration number and password, log in to your account and fill in the NEET application form. You will need to provide your personal details, educational qualification, and other necessary information.
- After filling in the details, you will need to upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other required documents
- After uploading all the required documents, check the preview of the application form to ensure that all the details are correct and accurate. Then, submit the main application form.
- Pay the application fee through the available payment options
- After submitting the application form and payment of the fee, take a printout of the confirmation page and keep it for future reference.

Admit Card
- NEET Admit Card is released by the NTA a few weeks before the exam date.
- Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of NEET by logging in using their registration number and password.
- The admit card contains important information like the candidate’s name, roll number, exam centre address, exam date and time, photograph, and signature.
- It is mandatory for candidates to carry the NEET Admit Card to the exam centre along with a valid photo ID proof like Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, etc.

Result

Admission Counselling
- The online counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical and dental colleges across India.
- The remaining 85% of seats are filled through state-level counselling for respective state quota seats.
- NTA has no role in conducting the counselling process.
