CTET 2023: Candidates interested in the Government jobs as school teacher need to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET 2023). The test is conducted twice a year- in July and December. Those who wish to appear for this test will have to apply online along with a prescribed application fee. Application form for CTET July will release most probably in January and for CTET December, in September. Those who fill the required eligibility can appear for Paper I (for primary teacher) and Paper II (for elementary teacher) as per their choice.
CTET 2023 Overview
- CTET 2023 application form is most likely to release by January 2023.
- The eligibility certificate will be valid for the duration of 7 years only.
- There is no limit to the number of times a candidate can appear in the test to obtain the eligibility certificate.
- A valid mobile number and email id is mandatory to fill the online application form.
- A correction window will be provided to the candidates to make any changes, if required, into the already submitted application form.
- Admit card of CTET should be kept safe till the certificate is obtained successfully.

CTET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for CTET 2023 are provided below as:
For Classes I-V: Primary Stage
Candidates with any of the following are eligible to apply:
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
For Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage
Candidates with any of the following are eligible to apply:
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) OR
CTET 2023 Application Form
The application form the CTET 2023 will be available on the official website ctet.nic.in. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility can proceed with the filling and submission of the application form.
- The candidates can fill the application form by providing their personal and academic information such as name, gender, date of birth, qualifying exam details, etc.
- Applicants will also have to create a password that can be used along with the registration number for further login.
- Choice for the center of exam and two languages for CTET paper should be clearly mentioned into the form.
- Scanned copies of photograph and signature will also be uploaded in the application form.
- The duly filled application form can then be submitted online along with the application fee.
- A printout of the application form and the registration number generated after form submission should be kept by the candidates for future use.
Application fee:
- Candidates can submit the application fee offline through Syndicate Bank and Canara Bank e-Challan.
- Payment can be done also through online mode using net banking, credit card or debit card.

CTET 2023 Admit Card
- Admit card to appear in the exam will be made available on the official website of CTET.
- Candidates should download their admit card, check for discrepancies and if any found, communicate it to the CTET unit for correction.
- The candidates who are not able to download their admit card can also reach the CTET Unit.
- Details of the exam center, date, time, etc will be mentioned on the admit card and the candidates should report for the exam accordingly.
- Without the admit card and a valid identity proof, the candidates will not be allowed to appear for the test.
CTET 2023 Result & Certificate
- Result of the eligibility test will be declared through online mode and can be checked from the official website.
- Candidates who clear the test will be eligible to obtain the CTET certificate and apply in the different Government and aided schools.
- However, the candidates will first have to get their documents and eligibility verified at the prescribed centers.
- The validity period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.
