The candidates who wish to prepare for the VITMEE exam must fulfill certain basic eligibility requirements. Only the candidates who meet the VITMEE Eligibility Criteria should submit their VITMEE application form. The basic requirement is that the candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in the relevant field to be eligible for VITMEE. The eligibility of the candidates will be checked at the time of admissions and those found ineligible will be disqualified immediately. Such candidates will forfeit any kind of fees that they have submitted earlier (application fee, counseling fee, etc).
VITMEE Eligibility Criteria
The important eligibility requirements that must be fulfilled by the VITMEE aspirants are mentioned below. Both general and course wise criteria are given here in details.
Nationality:
- The candidates of Indian nationality, PIO and NRI candidates are eligible to appear for VITMEE.
Educational qualification:
- The candidates who have completed their graduation from a recognized university/ institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% or with 1st class can apply for the entrance test.
- Candidates in the final year of their graduation can also apply.
- A consistent record at 10th and 12th level is required.
Academic gap:
- A maximum of 2-year academic gap is permissible.
Course-wise VITMEE Eligibility Criteria
For MCA
The candidates should have done their 3-year bachelor’s degree programme in BCA or B.Sc (IT/ Computer Science) with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 or graduate level.
For M.Tech
Automotive Engineering: A B.E/ B.Tech degree in Mechanical/ Automobile/ Production/ Manufacturing Engineering or Mechatronics or any equivalent degree is required.
Computer-Aided Design/ Computer-Aided Manufacturing: The candidates with a B.E/ B.Tech degree in Mechanical/ Automobile/ Production or any equivalent degree are eligible.
Energy and Environmental Engineering: Those with a B.E/ B.Tech degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Biotechnology/ Chemical/ Electrical/ Biochemical/ Environmental Engineering or M.Sc in Chemistry/ Microbiology/ Environmental Science/ Biotechnology, Biochemistry can apply.
Mechatronics: The candidates should have a B.E/ B.Tech degree in Mechanical/ Automobile/ Manufacturing/ Production/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Mechatronics or any equivalent degree.
Information Technology (Networking): The applicants with a B.E/ B.Tech in any branch or MCA/ M.S/ M.Sc in Computer science/ IT/ Software Engineering or any other equivalent degree are eligible.
Nanotechnology: B.E/ B.Tech in EC/ EE/ EI/ Mechanical/ Nanotechnology/ Chemical/ Metallurgical Engineering or M.Sc in Physics with Specialty in Electronics/ Material Science/ Solid State Physics/ Nanotechnology/ Nanoscience or any equivalent degree is required.
Communication Engineering: The candidates who have B.E/ B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ EEE/ ECE/ Telecommunication/ E&I/ Computer Sciences (Bridge course needed) or M.Sc Physics with Specialty in Electronics/ Electronics or any equivalent degree are eligible to apply.
Sensor System Technology: Those with a B.E/ B.Tech in EEE/ ECE/ E&I/ CSE/ Instrumentation & Control/ Biomedical/ Mechatronics or M.Sc in Electronics/ Physics with Electronics or any equivalent degree can apply.
Computer Science and Engineering: Candidates with B.E/ B.Tech degree in any branch or M.S/ M.Sc in Computer Science/ IT/ Software Engineering or MCA or any other equivalent degree can apply.
Computer and Communication Engineering: Applicants should have done B.E/ B.Tech in any branch or MCA/ M.S/ M.Sc in Computer Science/ IT/ Software Engineering/ Electronics/ Applied Electronics/ Physics Spec. with Electronics or any other equivalent degree.
Construction Technology & Management: The applicants with B.E/ B.Tech degree in Civil/ Civil & Structural Engineering/ B.Arch or any equivalent degree are eligible.
Manufacturing Engineering: B.E/ B.Tech degree in Mechanical/ Production/ Manufacturing/ Automobile Engineering or any equivalent degree is required.
Structural Engineering: B.E/ B.Tech degree in Civil/ Civil & Structural Engineering or any equivalent degree is required.
VLSI Design: The applicants should have done B.E/ B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ EEE/ ECE/ E&I or any equivalent degree.
Automotive Electronics: A B.E/ B.Tech degree in ECE/ Telecommunication/ CSE/ EIE/ IT/ EEE/ Mechatronics or any equivalent degree is mandatory.
Power Electronics and Drives: Those with B.E/ B.Tech degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ EEE/ ECE/ E&I or any equivalent degree can apply.
CSE in Cloud Computing/ Big Data Analytics/ Information security: B.E/ B.Tech Degree in any Branch/ MCA or any other equivalent degree.
Biotechnology: Applicants with B.E/ B.Tech degree in Chemical/ Leather Technology/ Biotechnology/ Industrial Biotechnology/ Biochemical/ Biomedical/ Bioinformatics or B.Pharma or M.Sc in any branch of Life Sciences or MBBS or M.Sc (Ag) & M.V.Sc are eligible.
Embedded Systems: A B.E/ B.Tech degree in ECE/ EEE/ Mechatronics/ EIE/ CSE/ IT/ Telecommunication/ Control & Instrumentation is required
Control and Automation: Candidates with B.Tech in EEE/ ECE/ E&I or any other equivalent degree can apply.
Biomedical Engineering: B.E/ B.Tech Degree in Biomedical/ Biomedical Instrumentation/ Medical Electronics/ ECE/ EIE/ EEE/ Biotechnology (Bridge courses needed)/ Bioinformatics (Bridge courses needed)/ Mechanical or M.Sc in Biophysics/ Electronics/ Physics/ Biomedical Sciences/ Biomedical instrumentation or any equivalent degree is required.
