IBPS RRB 2023: Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Syllabus

IBPS RRB 2023: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is the respective authority that shoulders the responsibility of conducting the IBPS RRB 2023 examination. This exam is conducted to select the candidates for the recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose). For both the posts i.e. Officers Scale I and Office Assistant (Multi-purpose), the examination is conducted in two tiers i.e. Preliminary examination and Main examination. Those aspirants who are looking to apply for the IBPS RRB 2023 exam need to fill and submit an online application form before the last date.

IBPS RRB 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/ Citizenship

The candidates with any of the following nationalities can apply.

  • Citizens of India
  • Subjects of Nepal
  • Subjects of Bhutan
  • Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention to settle in India permanently.
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age limit

The age limit depends upon the post for which you are applying as given in the table below.

Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to the candidates from reserved categories as given below.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification requirement depends upon the post for which you are looking to apply.

Office Assistant and Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager)

  • The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent.

Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer (Manager))

  • Aspirants must possess a bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent with at least 50% marks.
  • The candidate also need to have an experience of at least 2 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution

Officer Scale II (Specialist Officers (Manager))

  • Chartered Accountant: Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is required.
  • Information Technology Officer: The aspirants must have a bachelor’s degree in Electronics/ Communication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent with at least 50% marks.
  • Treasury Manager: Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance degree is required
  • Law Officer: Candidates should have a degree in Law or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate
  • Agricultural Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is required.
  • Marketing Officer: The aspirants looking to apply should have completed MBA in marketing.

Note: Experience of at least 1 year in a relevant field (2 years for law officer) is also required.

Officer Scale III (Senior Manager)

  • Those who are looking to apply for Officer Scale III (Senior Manager) must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • The applicants must also have an experience of 5 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

IBPS RRB 2023 Application Form

The application forms for all the posts under IBPS RRB 2023 will be available in online mode through the official portal only. Those who are looking to apply must visit the official website to initiate the registration process.

  • In the online application form, candidates have to provide their complete education, personal, and contact details.
  • Apart from this, candidates are also required to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and left thumb impression in a prescribed format.
  • Additionally, the applicants are also required to upload scanned images of a hand-written declaration.
  • Once all the details are entered in the application form, the candidates can submit the same and move on to pay the required application fee.
  • Applicants must take a printout of the application form submitted and keep it safe for future references.

Application Fee

  • The application fee for the candidates of different categories is given below.
    • General/ OBC candidates: Rs. 600/-
    • SC/ ST/ PWD candidates: Rs. 100/-
  • Mode of Payment: The application fee should be paid online using a credit card, debit card or internet banking.

IBPS RRB 2023 Admit Card

  • Those candidates who will submit the application form along with fees before the last date will be able to download the admit card online.
  • To download the admit card, candidates have to log in using the credentials generated at the time of registration.
  • Aspirants should take a print out of the downloaded admit card and take it to the examination center along with a photo ID proof.
  • Information about the examination date, timing and venue will be mentioned on the IBPS RRB 2023 admit card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without have a valid admit card along with photo ID proof.

IBPS RRB 2023 Exam Pattern

The basic details about IBPS RRB 2023 examination can be understood by the exam pattern explained below.

  • Mode of examination: Online (Computer Based Test)
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Language of Questions: Hindi and English both (except for the language sections)
  • Negative Marking: In case of an incorrect answer, 1/4th of the total marks assigned to the question will be deducted.

IBPS RRB 2023 Syllabus

The syllabus of IBPS RRB 2023 is quite vast. Here are providing some basic important topics for each subject. From which, the questions might be asked.

  • Reasoning Ability: Coding-Decoding, Alphabet Test, Analogy, Syllogism, Decision Making, Statement and Conclusion, Statement and Assumption, etc.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Number System, Quadratic Equations, Permutation and Combination, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership, Age Problems, etc.

IBPS RRB 2023 Result and Selection Process

  • The result of both preliminary and main examinations will be made available on the official portal.
  • Those candidates who will clear both preliminary and main exams will be called for the interview.
  • Please note that interviews will take place only for the posts of officer scales only.
  • After the main exam result, the schedule and call letters for the interview will be uploaded online.
  • While reporting for the interview, candidates must carry their original documents for verification purposes.
  • After successful verification of documents and clearing the interview, the candidates will get a provisional allotment.
  • The provisional allotment for the post of office assistant will be given based on the candidate’s performance in the main examination as the interview will not be conducted.
