Candidates wishing to appear for UGC NET exam must prepare for the same as per the UGC NET syllabus prescribed by the authority. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the exam for assessing the eligibility of the candidate for the post of “Assistance professor” and “junior research fellowship and assistant professor both” in any Indian college/university. Candidates can choose to appear for the exam in specialization they have done their master’s in or the relevant subject associated to that. With the help of the UGC NET Syllabus 2022, candidates can prepare for the exam well in advance.

UGC NET 2022 syllabus

UGC NET will be held for approximately 90 subjects. Through the syllabus, candidates will get to know the topics they need to prepare for the exam to qualify the same. Candidates should note that the syllabus for Paper-I shall be common to all and comprise of topics such as data interpretation, research aptitude, reading comprehension, logical reasoning and so on. However, that of Paper-II will be subject-specific one i.e. the subject chosen by the candidates while filling the form. UGC NET syllabus 2022 is quite exhaustive in nature and covers the curriculum of master’s level program. Here’s the complete UGC NET syllabus prescribed by the authority-

Important notes

  1. Candidates should appear in the exam only for the subject in which they have done their post graduation into. If the subject is not mentioned, then they may appear for the related subject.
  2. Those who possess a master’s degree in Geography (with specialization in population studies) or Mathematics/Statistics can also appear for the subject “population studies”.
  3. PG degree holders in humanities (including languages) and Social Science can also appear for the subject “Women studies”.
