TANCET 2022: Result Announced

Anna University, Chennai will conduct the TANCET 2022 exam in order to screen the candidates for admission to MBA, MCA, and M.Tech/ M.E/ M.Plan/ M.Arch degree programme. This exam will act as a gateway for admission into various government and non-government colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu. The application form will release on 30th March 2022 and mode of application will be online.

The candidates need to fill and submit the application form before the last date. In this article, we will discuss various details regarding the TANCET 2022 exam such as important dates, exam pattern, application form etc.

TANCET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must ensure their eligibility before applying for the exam. The candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria given below in order to apply for the TANCET 2022 exam.

For MBA

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’ s degree of at least 3 years duration with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for the candidates from reserved categories)

For MCA

  • The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for the candidates from reserved categories)
  • The applicant must have studied Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.

For ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan

  • The candidate must have a relevant bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% marks for the candidates from reserved categories)

Note: The students going to appear for the final year exam of the qualifying exam can also apply.

TANCET 2022 Application Form

TANCET 2022 application form will be made available only in online mode through the official website of the Anna University. In order to apply for the exam, the candidates need to register by providing some basic details like Name, Email id and phone number. After registration, the candidates need to login using the email and password then only they can access the application form.

The registered candidates need to provide all the necessary academic, personal and contact details in the application form. After entering the details, the candidates have to upload the scanned copies of passport size photograph and signature. After the submission to application form, the candidates need to pay the prescribed application fee in online mode.

Application Fee

The application fee for different categories will be as follows:

For SC/ SCA/ ST candidates: Rs. 250/-

For Rest of the candidates: Rs. 500/-

Note: The candidates can either opt for MBA or MCA or M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan courses. In case the candidate registers for more than one course then he/she needs to pay the application fee separately.

Mode of Payment

  • The candidate needs to pay the application fee via online mode using a credit card, debit card or net banking.

TANCET 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for TANCET 2022 will be as follows:

Mode of Exam: Offline (Pen and paper based exam)

Type of Questions: MCQs

Number of Questions: 100 for MBA/ MCA courses and 115 for M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan courses.

Marking scheme: 1 mark will be given for a correct answer.

Negative Marking: 1/3 marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer.

Duration of Exam: 2 Hours

The Exam for M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan courses will be divided into three sections as given in the table below:

TANCET Syllabus 2022

The syllabus for TANCET 2022 will depend upon the programme for which the candidate is looking to apply. However, general important topics for different courses are as follows:

For MBA: Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability etc.

For MCA: Logical reasoning, Quantitative ability, Computer awareness, Analytical reasoning and Verbal ability and Basic sciences

For ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan: Part I – Engineering Mathematics, Part II – Basic Engineering & Sciences and Part III – As per the subject selected by the candidate

Preparation Tips for TANCET 2022

Here are some tips and tricks that may help the candidates in order to prepare for the TANCET 2022 exam.

  1. First of all, go through the exam pattern and syllabus for the exam so that you can plan your studies accordingly.
  2. Gather good quality study material for your studies. Restrict yourself from following low quality guides.
  3. Keep revising the topics you have studied so that you don’t have to bear heavy burden near the exam time.
  4. Solve mock tests and sample paper regularly to be more familiar with the exam pattern. You can also find mock test for the exam online.

TANCET 2022 Admit Card

The successfully registered candidates can download the admit card from the official website of Anna University. It is mandatory for every candidate to carry admit card at the exam center. The candidates should keep their hall ticket intact even after the exam as it will be required during the later stages of admission. In case the candidate lost his/her admit card after the exam then he/she can request for a new one on payment of Rs. 100/- in the form of Demand Draft.

TANCET 2022 Result

The aspirants can check the result and download their mark sheet from the official website. It is compulsory for the candidate to download the mark sheet within 10 days of the declaration of result. In case any candidate lost the mark sheet then he/she can request for a duplicate mark sheet on the payment of Rs. 100/- via DD.  The request letter and DD for duplicate mark sheet should be sent to the following address:
