Important Dates for Karnataka Polytechnic 2022

Karnataka Polytechnic 2022 Application Form
Students can apply for the admission in different polytechnic courses through the official website of the DTE, Karnataka. Application form will most probably be available from the 2nd week of May 2022. Candidates should fill and submit the form before the deadline. They should take proper precaution while filling their details in the application form since, once the form is submitted the candidates won’t be able to change/edit the information in the application form.
It is compulsory for the candidates to pay the requisite amount of the application fee without which their applications will be rendered invalid and incomplete. Candidates should also keep the scanned photograph and signature handy as they need to upload it while filling the form. The filled-in form along with the relevant documents should be personally submitted at the nearest document verification center before the deadline.
Application Fee
General category candidates must pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- . Those belonging to the SC/ST/CAT-I must pay Rs. 50/- towards the application fee for the exam. The fee can be paid through SBI E-Challan.
Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Polytechnic 2022
The eligibility criteria for the Karnataka Polytechnic examination is as follows-
Nationality: An applicant must be an Indian National and should fulfill the domicile requirement of the state of Karnataka.
Educational Qualification
- For Engineering Diploma: Candidates should have passed Karnataka SSLC or its equivalent exam from a recognized board and have obtained at least 35% aggregate marks.
- For Non-Engineering Diploma: Candidates seeking admission in commercial practice, apparel design and fabrication technology, modern office management should have passed Karnataka SSLC or its equivalent with minimum 35% marks. Those wishing to enroll in library science and information management must have passed Karnataka PUC-II or its equivalent by securing at least 35% marks.
Karnataka Polytechnic 2022 Admission Procedure
Students seeking admission in different diploma courses offered by the institutions in the state of Karnataka will be given admission solely according to the merit secured by them in the respective qualifying examination. These candidates need to fill the application form and then submit the same at the nearest document verification center. At the center, all the original educational and other relevant documents will be thoroughly verified and candidates will be issued a printed copy of the application and the acknowledgement slip by the authority.
After a few days, a draft will be prepared (otherwise known as merit list) to shortlist the students for admission. The merit list will be displayed on the official website of the DTE, Karnataka. Students will also be informed about the publication of merit list through an SMS to their registered phone number. If not satisfied with the merit list, applicants can raise their objections under the stipulated time. The authority will then announce the final merit list and the candidates who are selected in the list will be invited for counselling session held at the nodal center.
During the counselling, candidates can indicate their choice of branch, course and college as per their preference. They will be allotted a seat in an institution based on the number of parameters like no. of seats available, choice opted by candidates during counselling, and marks secured in qualifying exam. After the seat allotment, students need to report to the concerned college to finish the admission related formalities.

Given below is the list of the original (along with photocopies) documents required from every student for verification at the document verification center-
- SSLC or equivalent exam mark sheets
- Six passport size photo
- Rural Certificate (if applicable)
- Kannada medium study certificate
- Eligibility Certificate
- Original Transfer Certificate/ T.C Endorsement (NOC) from the concerned Institutions
- Study certificate (for a minimum five years period)
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Physical fitness certificate issued by the Registered Medical Practitioner
