TISSNET 2022: Application Form (out), Exam Date, Eligibility Criteria

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) will shortlist the candidates for admission into its MA degree programmes on the basis of entrance test. The entrance test, TISSNET 2022, will be conducted in online mode on 26th February 2022. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the pre-interview test and personal interview round clearing which they will be considered for final admissions. Candidates who wish to join the MA courses offered by the institute can apply for the admission process from 17th December 2021 onwards.

TISSNET 2022 Major Highlights

• Applicants are advised to complete the application process in one session to minimize the possibility of any error.
• Employed candidates belonging to any category will not get an exemption from the form fees.
• Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any two of the TISS campuses and other centre locations.
• The candidates shortlisted for the interview round should download and fill a Detailed Application Form available on the official website.
• In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, the candidates should contact the office concerned where the application form is submitted.

Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria for appearing in TISSNET 2022 are given below:

• Candidates should have successfully completed their bachelor’s or master’s degree of minimum of 3 or 4 years duration or its equivalent from a recognized university
• Those who are in the final year of their bachelor’s or master’s degree programme who will fulfill the basic eligibility criteria before commencement of class are eligible too.
• Apart from this, the candidates must also make sure that they fulfill the specific eligibility criteria of the institute they wish to apply for.

TISSNET 2022 Application Form

The candidates are required to fill their application form through online mode from the official website of TISS admissions.tiss.edu. However, the candidates from remote areas where there is no facility for internet may request a hard copy of the application form from the institute. The request should be sent by speed post along with the prescribed application fees to Assistant Registrar (Academic), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Deonar Mumbai, 400088.

• To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal, educational and other details as required.
• Scanned copies of important documents such as photograph, signature, TISS copy of challan (if paid by cash), etc should be uploaded into the form.
• After providing all the details into the application form, the candidates can make final submission.
• Along with the online form, the applicants will also have to submit the required application fee.
• For offline applications, the form can be sent to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), TISS via post.
• Copies of important documents attested by a School Headmaster or a Principal of College or a Gazetted Officer should also be enclosed with the form.
• There is no need to send the copy application or any document for the online applications.
• Candidates should keep a hard copy of the filled-in application form in case of future reference.

Syllabus

Details of the syllabus for the entrance test are provided below:

• English Proficiency: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Grammar, Word Choice, Synonyms & Antonyms, Sentence Correction and Odd-One-Out & Analogies
• Mathematics & Logical Reasoning: Logical Reasoning, Data interpretation, Basic Arithmetic, Number Series, Basic Trigonometry, Basic Geometry and Basic Statistics
• General Awareness: Science & Technology, Indian History, Politics, Social Studies, Environment, Sports and Art & Culture

TISSNET Admit Card

• The admit card for appearing in the online test will be released on the official website of TISS.
• Candidates must download their admit card, take a printout and carry it to the exam center.
• No candidate will be allowed entry into the exam hall without a valid admit card.
• Damaged or distorted admit card will not be considered as valid one.
• No admit card will be sent by post and will only be downloadable from the TISS website.
• Admit card is an important document and must be kept safe till the whole process of admission is over.

Result & Interview

• Candidates will be able to check the result of the admission test through online mode.
• Qualified candidates will be eligible to appear for the next round that will be Pre-Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI).
• Call letters for the same will also be made available on the official website itself.
• The PIT will be in the form of a written test carrying a total of 50 marks and the interview will carry 75 marks.

TISSNET 2022 Selection Procedure

• Final merit lists of the candidates will be prepared based on the weightage for NET, PIT and PI.
• Preferences made by the candidates at the time of filling the registration form will also be considered by making the merit list.
• The candidates can check their names in the merit list by visiting the official website of the institute.
• Score card indicating the marks scored by the candidates in each component of exam process will also be released on the website.
• Selected candidates can then complete the rest of the formalities of admission.
