Kerala Polytechnic 2023 Notification released: The date for the availability of Kerala Polytechnic 2023 application form is 14th June 2023. The process of admission into polytechnic colleges of Kerala is carried out by the Directorate of Technical Education. No entrance exam will be conducted and the selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their marks in the qualifying exam.   • For candidates who do not have access to internet facility, Help Desks will be established in all the Polytechnic Colleges.
  • Late applications will not be considered for admission under any circumstances.
  • All candidates shall be accompanied by their parent/ guardian at the time of reporting for admission.
  • Inclusion of name in the rank list will not entitle the applicant for admission, unless he/she satisfies the rules regarding the eligibility for admission.
  • Candidates who fail to report to the allotted institute within the prescribed time limit will lose their seat.

Kerala Polytechnic 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria need to be fulfilled by the candidates to be considered for Kerala Polytechnic 2023 admission.

Nationality:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.

Domicile:

  • Applicants should be a native of Kerala or should have cleared their qualifying exam from an institution in Kerala State or his/ her parent should be a permanent employee in Central/ State/ Quasi Government/ Public Sector undertaking in Kerala State.

Qualification:

  • Those who have passed SSLC/ THSLC or equivalent examination, with Mathematics, English and Science subjects are eligible to apply for both stream I and stream II.
  • Candidates who have passed qualifying examination with Mathematics and English are eligible to apply for stream II.
  • The applicant who has taken more than two chances to secure eligibility for higher studies in SSLC/ THSLC or equivalent exam is not eligible for admission.
  • Appearances for “Betterment” or “SAY” examination will not be considered as a chance.

Kerala Polytechnic 2023 Application Form

  • The candidates will be able to submit their applications online through the official website www.polyadmission.org.
  • Basic personal, academic and contact details of the candidates will be asked into the application form.
  • Only correct and genuine information should be provided into the form as any incorrect information can lead to its rejection.
  • After providing the important details into the application form, it should be submitted online.
  • A printout of the filled application should be taken and sent to the nearest polytechnic college with the important documents and application fee.
  • The candidates should also keep a copy of the filled-in application form with themselves in case of future reference.

Application fee:

  • The application fee shall be Rs. 150/- (Rs. 75/- for SC/ ST candidates).
  • It should be remitted along with the hard copy of the application at the Polytechnic College.

Important Documents

The candidates should submit the following documents along with the hard copy of the application form:

  • Date of birth: Relevant page of SSLC/ THSLC or equivalent examination
  • Qualification proof: Mark list of SSLC/ THSLC or equivalent certificate
  • VHSE category candidates: Mark list of VHSE
  • ITI/ KGCE candidates: Mark list/ certificate of ITI/ KGCE
  • Bonus for backward districts (Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kasargod): Nativity/ Domicile certificate from Village Officer OR Copy from the Head of the institution where the candidate undergone study from class 8th to 10th and appeared for qualifying examination
  • SEBC candidates: Valid Community certificate from village officer
  • SC/ ST candidates: Community certificate issued by the Tahsildar
  • Special reservation: Certificate from the competent authority in support of the special Reservation claimed
  • PWD candidates: Medical certificate from the Medical Board
  • Economically backward candidates: Income certificate from Concerned Village Officer
  • Kerala Domicile (any one):
  • Relevant page of SSLC or equivalent showing the place of birth of the candidate
  • Relevant page of SSLC or equivalent showing the place of birth of parent(s) of the candidate in Kerala & a certificate to establish relationship between the parent and the candidate
  • Relevant page of passport of the candidate showing the place of birth in Kerala or either of the parents of the candidate with certificate to establish the relationship between the parent and the candidate
  • Certificate of birth from the competent authority of candidate or the parent(s) along with a certificate to establish the relationship between the parent and the candidate
  • Residential certificate from the Village Officer/ Tahsildar stating that the candidate has been a resident of Kerala for a period of five years within a period of ten years
  • Relevant page of SSLC or equivalent certificate to show that the candidate has undergone the qualifying examination from an institution in Kerala
  • Certificate issued by the employer that any of the parents of the candidate is working in Central/ State/ Quasi Government/ Public Sector undertaking in Kerala state, specifying the place and district in Kerala where that firm/ office is located

Preparation of Rank List

  • Rank list of the registered candidates will be prepared and published on the official website.
  • The rank list for Stream I will be prepared on the basis of candidates’ marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry.
  • For stream 2, rank list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in English and Mathematics.
  • Candidates need to verify their individual rank in the list and if any objection is there, it should be conveyed to the authorities.
  • After making necessary rectification, a final merit list will be drawn and published online.

Kerala Polytechnic 2023 Selection Process

  • Candidates whose names appear in the list can exercise their choice for programmes and colleges.
  • Based on their choice and merit, the candidates will be allotted seats into the different programmes/ colleges.
  • Allotment list and allotment letter will be published by the authorities on the official website.
  • Those selected for admission can take the printout of the allotment letter and report to the allotted institute to complete the admission process.
  • After submission of original documents and payment of tuition fee, the admission of the candidates will be final.

Question 1: What is the procedure for applying for change in the provisional merit list?

Answer: If candidate has any complaint regarding provisional merit list, he/ she should approach the Principal of the Polytechnic College where the hard copy of the application was submitted with specific request within 3 days after publication of the provisional rank.

Question 2: Is it necessary to send the hard copy of the application to polytechnic college or online submission will be enough?

Answer: Yes it is necessary that you submit the hard copy of the application to any nearest polytechnic college along with the copy of documents and prescribed fee. Or else, your application will not be considered as complete.

Question 3: What will the duration of the diploma programmes?

Answer: All the diploma programmes will be of 6 semester duration spanning a period of 3 years. For Tool & Die trade, there will be additional twelve month compulsory in-plant training.
