JEXPO Eligibility Criteria 2022: JEXPO otherwise known as West Bengal Polytechnic exam is conducted annually by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education for admission to the various diploma courses in engineering, technology, and architecture offered by the polytechnic colleges/institution in West Bengal. JEXPO is a qualifying joint entrance state level polytechnic exam. Aspirants must know the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. JEXPO Eligibility Criteria 2022
Candidates can check their eligibility criteria mentioned below. They must satisfy the criteria otherwise they won’t be permitted to appear for the exam resulting in cancellation of their candidature. Hence eligibility criteria must not be taken lightly.
Nationality
- Only Indian Citizens are eligible to apply for the exam.
- Foreign nationals cannot appear for the exam.
State Eligibility
- Candidates having domicile of West Bengal state can appear for the exam.
- Candidates who have cleared their class 10th from West Bengal can apply too.
- Candidates from other states are also eligible to apply under outside state category.
Qualifying Exam
Aspirants must have cleared/ appearing in the SSC (high school/10th) or equivalent exam from any of the recognized board to appear for the exam.
Age Criteria
- Minimum age: Candidates’ date of birth should not fall after 01.07.2007 (as per last year’s notification)
- Maximum age: No Maximum Age Prescribed.
Subjects
- Mathematics, Physical Science (Science) and English are mandatory subjects in the qualifying examination.
- Candidates should pass with these subjects from any recognized board.
Qualifying Marks
- A candidate must secure at least 35% aggregate marks without the marks of an additional subject (without Rounding off) in the qualifying examination.
- Candidate must secure minimum passing marks in all three subjects as per class 10th or its equivalent.
Note: Without rounding off simply means that any shortage of marks in minimum marks will make the candidate ineligible for exam, for example – 34.99% marks will not be considered as 35%.
Appearing Candidates
- Candidates appearing in class 10th can apply.
- Candidates, those results are awaited or yet be declared can are also eligible to apply.
Note: Candidates would be considered eligible only upon submission of all required documents at the time of admission.
Keep in your mind that 39.99% will not be considered as 40%.
