IPU CET Exam Pattern: Exam Mode, Duration, Negative Marking

Candidates wishing to appear for IPU CET must make themselves familiar with the IPU CET exam pattern. With the help of exam pattern, they can make an effective strategy to crack the exam. The exam pattern indicates the overall structure of the exam. Therefore, knowing the same will yield positive results in the entrance examination. The exam will be held in pen and paper-based mode and candidates will be given 2 hours 30 minutes to finish the same. There will be a provision of negative marking. Therefore, candidates should attempt the questions very carefully.

IPU CET Exam Pattern

To fetch good marks in the exam, it is important for the candidates to prepare for the exam strictly according to the IPU CET syllabus prescribed by the University. The combined knowledge of exam pattern and syllabus will yield positive results in the exam. The exam pattern for IPU CET exam is as follows-

  • Exam mode: The exam will be conducted in offline mode i.e. pen and paper based mode where the applicants will be provided a question booklet and an OMR answer sheet.
  • Exam duration: The exam will be held for 2 hours 30 minutes except for B.Tech in Biotechnology course that will be for 3 hours.
  • Medium: Questions in the exam will be asked in English language. And for B.Ed, questions will be given in both Hindi and English language.
  • Type of questions: There will be objective questions asked in the exam. Candidates have to select one option out of the given four choices.
  • Marking scheme: Candidates will be awarded with 4 marks if they answer correctly.
  • Negative marking: There will be negative marking for answering wrong. 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. Multiple options marking will also be considered invalid and wrong.
