ULSAT 2023: The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) offers admission into its law courses on the basis of a university level entrance exam ULSAT. The exam is followed by group discussion and personal interview. Clearing both these rounds will make the candidates eligible for admissions. Interested and eligible candidates can fill their application form through online mode from the month of September 2022 onwards. ULSAT 2023

  • Before applying for the admission test, the candidates are suggested to ensure their eligibility for admission.
  • There will be no exam centers and the candidates can appear for the exam as per their convenience from home or any place with internet.
  • Apart from ULSAT, admission into UPES Law College is also offered on the basis of board/ CLAT/ L-SAT India merit.
  • Only successfully registered candidates will be able to book their slot and appear for the exam.
  • Admission of the candidates into the law courses is subject to the fulfillment of eligibility and verification of documents.

ULSAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility to appear in the ULSAT exam 2023 has been discussed below.

  • For LLB course: The candidates should have passed their class 12th or equivalent exam scoring a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. A pass in class 10th with not less than 50% aggregate marks is also required. Additionally, the candidates should be born on or after 1st October 1999 in order to be eligible.
  • For LLM course: A pass in class 10th and 12th exam with at least 50% aggregate marks along with an LLB degree from a recognized university is required in order to be eligible for LLM course.

ULSAT 2023 Application Form

The ULSAT 2023 application form will be released in online mode tentatively in the month of September 2023. Candidates can obtain their application form by visiting the official website of the university www.upes.ac.in.

  • Candidates will be able to fill the application form by providing their personal details such as name, email id, mobile number, date of birth, gender, category, etc.
  • Details related to the qualifying exam such as passing year, university name, marks obtained, etc will also be asked in the application form.
  • The candidates then need to upload the scanned copies of their photograph and signature into the application form.
  • Once all the details are entered into the application form, the candidates should check the form for any error as incorrect forms will be liable for rejection.
  • The duly filled application form filled correctly can then be submitted along with the required application form.
  • After successful submission, the candidates should take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future reference.

Application fee:

  • Payment of application fee can be done online using the facility of net banking or debit card/ credit card.
  • The application fee for ULSAT 2023 will be Rs. 1850/- and will be non-refundable.

ULSAT 2023 Slot Booking and Taking Exam

Slot booking:

  • The candidates who submit their application successful will obtain the link for booking slot for appearing in the exam.
  • For booking the slot, the candidates will have to use the user id and password generated after their forms are submitted.
  • During slot booking, the candidates will be asked to choose the day, date and time for appearing in the exam based on the availability.
  • After successful slot booking, the candidates will be able to take their exam in the allotted slot.

Taking exam:

  • The candidates can take their exam from any place suitable to them, given there is a good internet connection.
  • Exam can be given from home, cyber café or any place as per the convenience of the candidates.
  • A link will be shared with the candidates after successful booking of the slot for taking the exam.
  • The link will be shared one day before the exam on the registered email address of the candidates.
  • Exam will begin after clicking on this link and will terminate on its own once the allotted time period is over.

ULSAT 2023 Result

  • Result of the online exam will be displayed on the official website of the university.
  • Using their roll number and other details, the candidates will be able to check their result online.
  • Those who clear the online exam will have to appear for group discussion and personal interview round.
  • A merit list of the candidates will be prepared once they clear the interview round as well.
  • Candidates will then have to participate in the further rounds of admission as per their names in this list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Is there any exemption from appearing in the ULSAT 2023?

Answer: The following candidates are exempted from appearing in the admission test and can apply directly for the GD & PI round.

  • Candidates who have ranking in CLAT up to 10,000
  • Candidates who scored LSAT India score of 60 percentile or above
  • Applicants with a minimum of 85% marks in best five subjects (including English) in 10th & 12th (For BA.LLB (Hons), BBA.LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons) admissions)
  • Applicants with at least 70% marks in 10th and 12th overall and in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in class 12th (For B.Tech LLB (Hons) admission)

Question 2: What if I fail to book the exam slot in time?

Answer: Those candidates who fail to book the slot for appearing in the entrance exam, the university will allot the time slot for them. Once allotted, the exam slot cannot be changed under any condition.

Question 3: What things I need to carry while reporting for the admissions?

Answer: The selected candidates should report to the institute along with all their documents in original and photocopy. Along with this, the candidates also need to carry the prescribed amount of admission, tuition and other applicable fee.
