SSC JE 2023: Staff Selection Commission conducts an examination for recruitment of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. To appear in the exam, the candidates are required to fill an application form. The application form is released online tentatively in the month of August/ September.   • All candidates who are called for documents verification will be required to produce the relevant certificates in original.
  • A candidate must indicate the Centre(s) in the online Application Form in which he/ she desires to take the examination.
  • Only the candidates who clear paper I of the selection test will be eligible for appearing in paper II.
  • Detailed options for various posts and Departments will be taken from candidates at the time of document verification.
  • Candidates with benchmark physical disability only would be considered as Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and entitled to reservation.

SSC JE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria for appearing in SSC JE exam are given below:

Nationality:

Candidates of following nationality are eligible to apply:

  • Citizen of India
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Tibetan refugee, who came to India before 1st January 1962 to become a permanent resident
  • Person of Indian Origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam who came to India for settling permanently

Age criteria:

Depending on the post the candidate is applying for, the upper age limit for SSC JE is 30 and 32 years.

Academic qualification:

Based on the post being applied for, the academic criteria differ. However, basic eligibility includes a degree or diploma in the relevant field of engineering.

SSC JE 2023 Application Form

The application form for SSC JE 2023 will be released online on the official website of SSC. Candidates should keep all the important documents such as id proof, banking details, etc ready before proceeding towards application form filling.

  • Personal and academic details related to the candidates will be asked in the application form.
  • Scanned copies of candidates’ photograph and signature, exam city choice, etc should also be provided in the application form.
  • Once all the important information is entered into the form, the candidates can submit it along with the required application fee.
  • After successful submission of the form, a confirmation page containing the application number of the candidates will be generated.
  • The candidates should take a printout of this page and keep it safe in case of future reference.

Application fee:

  • The application fee for all candidates (except women, SC/ST/PWD candidates who are exempted) will be Rs. 100/-.
  • Payment of application fee can be done using net banking/ debit card/ credit card or via bank challan.

SSC JE Admit Card 2023

  • The SSC JE admit card will be released on the official website of concerned regional/ sub-regional office of the commission for download.
  • After downloading, the candidates should take a copy of the admit card and carry it with them at the time of appearing for the exam.
  • No candidates will be allowed to write their exam in the absence of a valid admit card and an identity proof.
  • The admit card should be kept safe till the complete process of selection/ recruitment is over.

Question 1: How can I get my exam center changed?

Answer: The exam center as the one mentioned in the admit card of the candidate cannot be changed under any circumstances.

Question 2: Is there any way in which I can change my preference of post after document verification?

Answer: Once the candidate provides the choice for post and department, it will not be possible to change it later. Therefore, extreme care should be taken while exercising the choices.

Question 3: Can candidates of all genders apply for the JE exam?

Answer: Yes. However for the post of Junior Engineers in the Border Roads Organization (BRO), only male candidates are required to apply.

Question 4: Is there any provision for offline submission of application form?

Answer: No. the complete process of registration is made online and no offline filling or submission of forms is possible.

    Or is it necessary to complete my degree and receive certificate to apply for the exam?
