PESSAT Exam Pattern: Mode, Questions, Negative Marking

Candidates seeking admission in different UG and PG programs offered by PES University need to know the PESSAT exam pattern to understand the overall structure of the exam. The exam pattern will help the candidates in making an effective strategy to score better marks in the entrance test. Through the exam pattern, candidates will get to know the marking scheme, type of questions, exam duration among other.

Through PESSAT, candidates can enroll themselves in courses such as B.Tech, B.Des, BBA LLB, BCA, B.Pharma, MBA, MCA, M.Tech etc. The exam will be conducted in online mode except for the B.Des program. The total duration of the exam for all the courses will be 2 hours except for B.Tech, the duration for which will be 3 hours. It is important for them to check the PESSAT exam pattern so as to make a proper study plan to crack the exam.

PESSAT Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for different undergraduate and postgraduate courses varies accordingly. Candidates should keep in mind to go through the PESSAT syllabus prescribed for the relevant course. The exam pattern of PESSAT entrance exam is as follows-

  • Mode of the exam: The entrance exam will be conducted in online mode for all the courses except B.Des which will be conducted in offline mode.
  • Duration of the exam: The total duration to complete the exam will be 120 minutes for all the courses leaving B.Tech, the duration for which will be 180 minutes.
  • Type of questions: Leaving B.Des, all the papers will consist of objective type questions where four options will be provided to the candidates and they have to select only one among those.
  • Exam medium: The questions in the exam will be asked in English language only.
  • Negative marking: There will be no provision for negative marking. Therefore, candidates should attempt as many questions as they can.

Course-wise exam pattern

Exam pattern for B.Des program: The paper for admission in B.Des program will be held in pen and paper mode. Candidates will be assessed for their basic knowledge of colors and forms, general awareness, sensitivity to aspects of typography, spatial sense, free-hand sketching, 3D visualization, Basic English among other things. The total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours.
