NIFT 2023 conducts an entrance test for selecting the candidates for admission into its different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The test is conducted in pen and paper based mode. NIFT 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria must be fulfilled by the candidates who want to apply for NIFT 2023:
For UG degree course (B.Des and B.F.Tech):
- Age limit: The upper age limit as on 1st October 2022 is 23 years for general/ OBC candidates and 28 years for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.
- Educational qualification: A pass in class 12th exam or 3-year diploma or equivalent from a recognized board/ university is required.
For PG degree course (M.Des, MFM and M.F.Tech):
- For M.Des and MFM course: The candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized university or 3-year diploma from NIFT/ NID.
- For M.F.Tech course: Applicants with BE/ B.Tech from any recognized university or B.F.Tech from NIFT are eligible.
NIFT 2023 Application Form
The NIFT 2023 application form will be released through online mode and can be obtained from the official website of the institute www.nift.ac.in. Those who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can apply for the exam.
- In the application form, basic personal details related to the candidates such as name, date of birth, email address, etc will be asked.
- Academic details especially those related to the qualifying exam will also be asked into the form.
- Scanned copies of photograph and signature of the candidates need to be uploaded into the application form as well.
- After providing all the details as asked, the candidates can submit the form with the specified application fee.
- The applicants should then take a printout of the submitted application form and keep it with them for future reference.
Application fee:
- For general category candidates, the application fee will be Rs. 1500/- and for SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PWD candidates, fee will be Rs. 750/-.
- Payment of the application fee can be done online using debit card/ credit card/ net banking or offline through demand draft.
- For payment through demand draft, a printout of the application form along with the demand draft should be sent to the following address: Project Manager, All India Management Association Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110 003.

Stage II: Creative Ability Test (CAT)
This test will be conducted to evaluate the creative and innovative use of color, intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development & design ability and illustration skills
Stage III: Situation Test
This test will be conducted to evaluate the skills for material handling and innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials
Stage IV: Group Discussion
This test will be conducted to evaluate Conceptual clarity, Knowledge of the topic assigned, Contribution made to the topic, Interpersonal skills, Ability to generate new ideas, Problem solving approach, Leadership qualities and Effective communication
Stage V: Personal Interview
This test will be conducted to evaluate Career orientation, Aptness for the course, overall personal achievements in academics and co-curricular activities, Communication and General awareness and aptitude, creative and lateral thinking
NIFT 2023 Admit Card
- The admit card for the entrance test will be made available for download on the official website.
- Applicants can download their admit card using their application number, date of birth, etc.
- Candidates should take a hard copy of the admit card and carry it with them while reporting to the exam center.
- In absence of a valid admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to take their exam.
- Admit card should be preserved by the candidates as it may also be required at the time of admission.
NIFT 2023 Result
- The authorities will declare the result of the entrance exam tentatively in the month of February 2023.
- Those who qualify the exam will be considered for the further rounds of the admission.
- A merit list of the candidates will be prepared based on the marks scored by the candidates in the entrance exam.
- Candidates will be invited to attend the further admission process as per the names in the merit list.
NIFT 2023 Admission Process
- Shortlisted candidates need to appear for the Situation Test, Group Discussions and Personal Interview rounds.
- Details regarding these rounds will be communicated to the candidates in time via the official website.
- Documents of the candidates will also be verified at the time of group discussion and therefore they should report for the same with all their documents in original.
