Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2022: Application Form, Eligibility, Exam Date

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will be conducting selection test to shortlist the candidates for admission into class VI and IX. Admission will be offered into different Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) situated all over the country. Interested students or their parents/ guardians can fill and submit their online applications for admission. The selection test for class VI will be conducted on 30th April 2022 in one phase. The application form for JNVST 2022 is now available. Candidates can apply till 30th November 2021. Apart from this, the last date to apply for JNV class 9 lateral entry 2022 is 31st October 2021 and the exam will be held on 9th April 2022.

Major Highlights

  • There will be no application fee for Navodaya Vidyalaya selection test.
  • In all JNVs, a help desk will be available to assist the candidates/parents in submitting application form free of cost.
  • Center to appear for the test will be mentioned in the admit card and will not be changed under any circumstances.
  • Marks obtained by candidates in the test (selected or not selected) will not be communicated.
  • There will be no provision for re-evaluation of the answer scripts or re-totaling of marks.

Eligibility Criteria

Following are the eligibility criteria for Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2022:

For Class VI

  • Candidate must be studying in class V for the whole academic session 2022-2023 in a recognized schools or ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where admission is sought.
  • The student must not have been born before 01-05-2009and after 30-04-2013 (both days inclusive).
  • For admission under rural quota, one must have passed classes III, IV and V from a recognized school located in rural area spending one full academic session each year.
  • Only the candidates from the district concerned where the Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply for admission.
  • No candidate will be allowed to appear in the selection test for the second time.

For Class IX

  • The candidate must be studying in class VIII for the whole academic session 2022-2023 in a recognized schools or ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where admission is sought. Clearing the exam is also compulsory.
  • The student must not have been born before 01-05-2006 and after 30-04-2010 (both days inclusive).

Navodaya Vidyalaya Application Form 2022

The application form for Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2022 will be made available in online mode on the official website www.navodaya.gov.in. A valid email address and phone number will be required for filling the application form.

  • Basic details such as name, date of birth, gender, etc of the candidates will be asked in the application form.
  • Soft copies of candidates’ photograph and signature and signature of the parents/ guardians will be uploaded into the application form.
  • Choice for medium of test should be provided at the time of filling the application form.
  • After providing all the information into the application, it can be submitted online.
  • A registration number and password will be sent on the registered phone number after successful application submission.
  • Candidates are suggested to keep a printout of the filled and submitted application form in case of future reference.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission Syllabus

For Class VI

Basic topics to check the mental and arithmetical ability will be covered under the exam syllabus.

  • Mental Ability Test: Figures and Diagrams (Odd-Man Out, Figure Matching, Pattern Completion, Figure Series Completion, Mirror Imaging, etc)
  • Arithmetic Test: Numeric System, LCM and HCF, Decimals, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Perimeter, Area & Volume, Fractional Number
  • Language Test: Passages followed by 5 questions to assess reading comprehension

For Class IX

The syllabus will comprise of important topics from English, Hindi, Mathematics and Science subjects of class VIII level.

  • English: Comprehension, Tense, Modal Auxiliaries, Structure Spelling, Reported Speech, Prepositions, Word & Sentence, Jumbled Words and Degrees of Comparison
  • Hindi: Antonym, Synonym, Sentence Correction, Sentence Formation, Proverb, Varna Vichaar, Shabd bhed, Shabd Vivek, etc
  • Mathematics: Rational Numbers, Squares & Square Roots, Cubes & Cube Roots, Exponents & Powers, Mensuration, Data Handling, Quadrilaterals, Linear Equations in One Variable, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Discount, etc
  • Science: Food, Living/ Non Living, Reproduction, Force, Light, Electric Current, Natural Phenomena and Solar System.

Admit Card

  • The admit card for the selection test will be published on the official website of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
  • Students will be able to download their admit card registration number and password.
  • Upon downloading, a printout of the admit card should be taken out and must be carried to the exam center.
  • On the admit card, details of the candidates and the exam and important instructions will be published.
  • The students are advised to keep their admit card safe until they are granted final admission.

Result

  • Students will be able to check the result of the selection test by visiting the official website of NVS and logging into the admission portal.
  • Result will be notified in the Vidyalaya Notice Board as well as on the website of concerned JNVs.
  • Selected candidates will also be intimated by speed post and SMS.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Process 2022

  • Candidates who clear the selection test will be offered final admission only after verification of their documents.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to visit the Vidyalaya along with their original certificates for verification.
  • Details of the admission process will be communicated to the candidates through the official website.
  • The students will be considered for the admission only into that Vidyalaya for which they have appeared for the selection test.
