Karnataka ITI 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The following eligibility criteria need to be fulfilled by the candidates applying for the Karnataka ITI admission 2023:
- Age criteria: The age of the candidates should not be less than 14 years as on dates of admission. There is no upper age limit.
- Domicile criteria: Only those candidates who are a native of Karnataka state are eligible to apply.

For non-engineering trades:
- For 6-month Data Entry Operator and Driver Cum Mechanic trades: The candidates who have cleared their class 10th exam or its equivalent from a recognized board are eligible to apply.
- For 1-year Desk Top Publishing Operator, Photographer, Basic Cosmetology, Health Safety & Environment, Multimedia, Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance (Mechanic Computer Hardware & Network Technology), Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Surface Ornamentation Technique (Embroidery & Needle Work), Secretarial Practice, Sewing Technology, Dress Making, Fashion Design Technology, Front Office Assistant and Stenography & Secretarial Assistant English trades: A pass in class 10th or equivalent exam from a recognized board is required.
- For 2-year Dental Laboratory Equipment trade: Those who have passed the class 10th or its equivalent exam from a recognized board can apply for this trade.
For engineering trades:
- For 1-year Sheet Metal Worker trade: The applicants with a fail in class 10th exam from a recognized board who have passed their class 8th exam successfully are eligible for this trade.
- For 1-year Mechanic (Tractor), Mechanic Auto Electrical & Electronics, Architectural Assistant, Carpentry, Foundry Men Technician, Interior Decoration & Designing, Mechanic Agriculture, Mechanic Auto Body Repair, Mechanic Diesel Engine, Plastic Processing Operator, Plumber, Welder and Welder (GMAW & GTAW) trades: The candidates need to clear their class 10th exam or its equivalent from a recognized board in order to be eligible.
- For 2-year Wireman trade: A fail in class 10th exam but a pass in class 8th exam is required to apply for the wireman trade.
- For 2-year Surveyor, Draughtsman (Civil), Draughtsman (Mechanical), Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Electroplater, Fitter, Information Communication Technology System Maintenance, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Machinist (Grinder), Mechanic (Machine Tools Maintenance), Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Mechanic Consumer Electronic Applications, Mechanic (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning), Medical Electronics, Technician Power Electronics System, Tool & Die Maker (Press Tools, Jigs And Fixture) + Dies & Moulds and Turner trades: Applicants should have passed their class 10th or equivalent exam.
Application Form for Karnataka ITI Admission 2023
Karnataka ITI application form 2023 can be obtained by visiting the official website of the Directorate of Employment & Training www.emptrg.kar.nic.in. Candidates who wish to be considered for the admission must submit their application form on time.
- Candidates will be required to provide their personal details such as name, date of birth, gender, address, email id, mobile number, etc in the application form.
- Academic details related to class 10th exam like board name, year of passing, passing status, marks obtained, etc will also be asked.
- Scanned copies of photograph and signature of the candidates need to be uploaded in the form as well.
- After providing all the details in the form, the candidates can submit it online with the specified application fee.
