It is a state level entrance examination conducts for offering admission into various 1st year full time/part time courses such as MCA /MBA / M.Arch/ ME/ M.Tech part time M.Tech (QIP) and second year of MCA courses.

Eligibility criteria

Basic criteria

  • Applicants should possess the domicile certificate of Karnataka state.
  • Candidates from other state are eligible for admission into MBA/MCA seats.
  • Applicants who possess a valid GATE score card are exempted from the entrance exam, but they need to can fill the application form.

Educational criteria

Courses Required qualification
For MBA (Full Time and Part Time) Applicants should pass a Bachelor Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized board with obtaining no less than 50% marks (45% marks in QE for candidates from SC/ST & Category of Karnataka state)
For MCA courses Aspirant should pass the UG or equivalent examination with Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Application, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Business Mathematics and Business Statistics as one of the mandatory subjects. They must clear the qualifying examination with scoring no less than 50% marks (45% marks for the SC/ST & Category I of Karnataka state).
For MCA (Lateral Entry) Applicants should possess a bachelor degree in BCA, B.Sc (Computer Science/ IT) from a recognized university with scoring no less than 50% marks (45% marks for the SC/ST & Category-I of Karnataka state).

They must complete the qualifying examination with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.

For M.Tech/ ME/M.Arch Candidates should pass the qualifying examination with scoring an aggregate no less than 50% marks (45% marks in QE for SC/ST & Category I of the state of Karnataka). Moreover, candidate should possess a valid GATE 2018 Score.

Availability of Karnataka PGCET 2018 Application Form

The application procedure for Karnataka PGCET is listed below:

Hall ticket

The admit card/hall ticket of Karnataka PGCET will release through online mode only from the official website of KEA. Candidates can obtain their admit card online via visiting the official website probably in the month of August 2018. Your admit card will consist of important details regarding exam such as name of the candidate, roll number, examination venue, date & time of exam etc. While coming to the examination center candidates should bring their admit card. Keep admit card safe till the admission process is over.


The authority will announce the Karnataka PGCET 2018 result most probably in the month of August 2018. Candidates who appear in the entrance test can check their results through online mode from the official website. The officials will prepare a separate merit list on the basis of the candidate’s marks secured in the entrance exam.


Shortlisted applicants will be invited for counselling process on the basis of their merit rank. The process of counseling will commence in the month of September 2018 (tentative) after the release of merit list. Applicants should attend the counselling in person along with the original documents. During the counseling candidates need to choose the college and course. The final allotment of seat is done on the basis of the marks obtained in the examination.
