Admissions into Jawaharlal Nehru University will be offered to the candidates on the basis of CUET entrance exam conducted by NTA. The candidates can apply for JNU Admission 2023 in online mode till 12th March 2023. JNUEE will be the university level exam based on which enrolment will be granted into different courses. JNU Exam Pattern 2023
The overview of exam pattern for both CEEB and JNUEE is given below:
For JNUEE:
- Mode of exam: Online
- Medium of exam: English (unless specified otherwise)
- Duration of exam: 3 hours
- Type of questions: Objective type
For CEEB:
- Duration of exam: 3 hours
- Question paper parts: 2 (Part A and Part B)
- Number of questions: Part A- 60 and Part B- 100 (only 60 to be attempted)
- Type of questions: Objective type
- Marking scheme:
- For Part A: 1 mark will be given for each right answer and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer
- For Part B: 3 marks will be given for each right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer
JNU Application Form 2023
The interested candidates will be able to fill their application form for JNU Admission 2023 in online mode. The candidates will have to visit the official university website to obtain the application form.
- To fill the form, the candidates will have to provide their personal and educational details such as name, gender, category, qualifying exam marks obtained, passing year, etc.
- Scanned copies of photograph and signature will also be provided in the form in scanned format.
- The duly-filled application form can then be submitted along with the required application fee.
- Candidates should keep a hard copy of the filled application with them in case of future correspondence.
- Keep in mind that incorrect or incomplete applications or applications submitted after the last date will be rejected.

The application fee can be paid via credit card/ debit card/ net banking or via demand draft.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidates are required to fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria for JNU Admission 2023:
For Undergraduate courses:
- BA (Hons): The candidates with a pass in class 12th exam or with certificate of Alimiah and a pass in English Language subject at senior secondary level scoring a minimum aggregate of 45% marks are eligible.
- BA (Hons) 2nd year: The candidates with a pass in first year of bachelor’s degree programme scoring a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (50% marks for German) and proficiency in the concerned language are eligible.
For Postgraduate courses:
- MTech (Computer Science and Technology): Master’s degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operational Research/ any branch of Science/ any branch of Engineering/ Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with at least 55% marks is required.
- MCA: The candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with sufficient skill in Mathematics and at least 55% marks in aggregate.
- MSc (Agri.) Biotechnology & M.V.Sc: Applicants with a graduate degree scoring a minimum of 55% marks in the concerned subjects can apply.
For M.Phil/ Ph.D courses:
- MPhil/ Ph.D in Persian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, French & German: Master’s degree in the concerned language with at least 55% marks is required.
- MPhil/ Ph.D Economics Studies & Planning, Modern History, Population Studies & Social Systems: Those with a master’s degree in concerned subject or in allied subjects or Humanities or Natural Sciences with at least 55% marks can apply.
For Postgraduate Diploma courses:
- Postgraduate Diploma in Big Data Analytics:Sc/ B.Tech in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Operations Research/ Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ related disciplines in engineering, physical, and biological sciences with minimum 55% marks is necessary.
For Part-time courses:
- Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, Yoga Philosophy & Sanskrit: Pass in class 12th exam or equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate is required.
Admit Card
- The candidates may download their admit card form JNU official website jnu.ac.in from April 2023.
- The admit card along with a latest passport size photograph must be carried to the exam center.
- If any problem arises while downloading the admit card, the candidate must contact the JNU representative or the Presiding Officer/ Principal of the centre at least a day in advance.
- Any candidate without a valid admit card or photograph will be prohibited from appearing in the entrance exam.
- The admit card must be preserved until the process of counseling and admission is over.
Result & Counseling
- JNU Admission 2023 result will be announced by May 2023.
- Candidates can check the result using their roll number, date of birth and other related details.
- On the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam, merit list will be prepared.
- Counseling of the candidates will be conducted as per their names in the merit list.
- During the counseling, the documents of the candidates will be verified and if found satisfactory, final admission will be granted.
