JNU Admission 2021: Admit Card (Released), Date of Exam, Result

JNU conducts an entrance exam to shortlist candidates for admission into different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Interested candidates who also meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can apply for the exam through online mode. The application form has been released on 28th July 2021. Eligibility Criteria for JNU Admission 2021

Check out the course-wise eligibility criteria for JNU Admission 2021 given below:

Age Limit:

  • The minimum age limit for B.A. (Hons) Programme is 17 years as on 1 October 2021. There is no age bar for any other programme.

Educational qualification:

Undergraduate courses:

  • BA (Hons): A pass in class 12th exam securing not less than 45% marks is required. Specific criteria for different language subject will also be there.
  • BA (Hons) 2nd year: Those with a pass in first year of any bachelor’s degree course with a minimum of 45% marks & proficiency in the concerned language are eligible.
  • B.Sc-M.Sc Integrated program in Ayurveda Biology: The candidates should have cleared the class 12th exam with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

Postgraduate courses:

  • M.Sc in Life Sciences: A bachelor’s degree (B.Sc/ B.Tech or equivalent) in Biological, Physical or Agricultural Sciences or Biotechnology with at least 55% marks is required
  • MA in Economics: Candidates with bachelor’s degree in any discipline scoring a minimum of 50% marks and Mathematics as a subject are eligible.
  • MCA: Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics and at least 55% marks in aggregate.
  • M.Tech Computer Science and Technology: The candidates should have a Master’s degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operational Research/ any branch of Science/ Master of Computer Applications (MCA)/ Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology with 55% marks.

Doctorate courses:

  • PhD in Life Sciences: Master’s degree in Life Sciences/ Biological, Physical, Chemical, or Agricultural Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Botany/ Zoology/ Bioinformatics/ Genetics/ Microbiology/ Systems Biology/ any other branch of Biological Sciences with 55% marks or equivalent is required.
  • PhD in Informal Sector & Labour Studies: Candidates with 2 years M.Phil degree scoring not less than 55% marks of a recognized University/Institution are eligible.
  • PhD in Biotechnology: Those with M.Sc in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or any branch of Physical or Biological or Engineering Sciences or B.Tech/ B.E (Biotechnology/ Bioengineering/ Allied Areas)/ MBBS with at least 55% marks can apply too.
  • M.Phil in North East India Studies: A master’s degree in Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Law/ International Studies/ Arts and Aesthetic or Environmental Studies with at least 55% marks or M.Sc in Natural Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks is required.

JNU Application Form 2021

The application form for JNU admission 2021 can be obtained online through the official website www.jnuexams.nta.nic.in. Candidates must carefully read the instructions in the information brochure before filling their application form.

  • Candidates first need to register themselves providing basic details such as name, mobile number, email address, etc.
  • After successful registration a registration number and password will be generated that can be used to obtain the application form.
  • Rest personal details, academic details and contact and other details related to the candidates will be asked in the application form.
  • Photograph and signature of the candidates in scanned format need to be uploaded in the form as well.
  • While applying, the candidates must also select four examination city centers in order of their preference.
  • After providing all the details correctly, the candidates can submit the application form along with the specified application fee.
  • Once submitted successfully, the candidates should take the printout of the application form and keep it safe for future correspondence.

JNU Entrance Exam 2021 Pattern

Check out the basic exam pattern for the JNUEE 2021 from below:

  • Mode of Examination: CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Medium of Paper: English only (Language courses may have exception)
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Question
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Marks per question: 1 mark will be given for each correct response
  • Negative marking: No negative marking for incorrect response

JNU Entrance Exam 2021 Admit Card

  • The admit card will be available for download through online mode on the website of the university www.jnu.ac.in and on www.jnuexams.nta.nic.in.
  • A printout of the admit card should be taken and carried to the exam center on the day of exam.
  • Candidates who do not report to the exam center with a valid admit card will not be allowed to give their exam.
  • Details of the exam like center allotted, date and timing will be printed on the admit card.
  • Admit card is an important document that should not be damaged in any manner or else will be considered as invalid.

JNUEE 2021 Result

  • The authorities will declare the result of the entrance test in online mode a few weeks after declaration of result.
  • Candidates will be able to check their result by visiting the official website www.jnuexams.nta.nic.in.
  • A merit list of the qualified candidates will be prepared on the basis of their marks in the entrance exam.
  • Qualified candidates will then be invited to attend the counseling round as per their names in the merit list.

JNU Counseling 2021

  • Details regarding the beginning of the counseling round will be communicated to the candidates through the official website.
  • At the time of counseling, documents of the candidates will be verified and they will be asked to provide their choice for course specialization.
  • Reporting candidates must carry with them all their documents in original and photocopy.
  • Admissions in JNU will be granted to the candidates on the basis of their choice and ranking.

Can I submit my application form offline?

No. The filling and submission both of the application form can be done through online mode only.

Does NTA correct the details in my application form?

The candidates will be given a window to make changes in their application form on their own. The NTA does not correct the details in the application form.

I am unable to download my admit card. What should I do?

In case of any problem related to admit card, they may contact at the helpline numbers between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

What happens if an ineligible candidate somehow manages to secure admission?

If by means of providing false information or any other way a candidate is able to secure admission, the candidature of such student will be canceled at any stage.
