JEE Main Cutoff 2022

JEE Main Cutoff 2022 will be released along with the JEE Main exam result. The cutoff will be released in online mode on the official website. The candidates who get score more than the prescribed cutoff marks will be eligible for admissions into different institutes considering JEE Main score. JEE Main Cutoff 2022 will be decided by the concerned authorities depending on a number of factors such as number of applicants who appeared for the exam, difficulty level of the paper, etc. The cutoff will be different for the candidates belonging to different categories.

Factors determining the JEE Main Cutoff 2022

The following factors will be considered while calculating the cutoff marks for JEE Main exam 2022:

  • The total number of candidates who have appeared successfully for the exam
  • The difficulty level and the number of questions asked in the exam
  • The overall performance of the candidates who have appeared in the exam

JEE Main Cutoff for Previous Year

JEE Main Cutoff 2022 has not been released yet. However, the candidates can get a rough idea of the cutoff marks for the year 2022 by having a look at the previous year’s cutoff.

The previous years’ cutoff provided here is only for reference purpose. The actual cutoff marks for the JEE Main exam for the year 2022 will be released with the declaration of the result. Earlier, the exam was conducted by CBSE and the mode of the exam was offline. In the year 2022, NTA will conduct the exam in online mode. This and certain other changes that have been made in the pattern of the Main exam might also affect the cutoff for this year.

Significance of JEE Main Cutoff 2022

Only the candidates with marks more than the cutoff marks will be considered as qualified. Cutoff mark is therefore also called as qualifying mark. It is mandatory for the candidates to score more than the prescribed cutoff marks if they wish to be considered for the counseling process. The merit list of the selected candidates will be prepared for the candidates who have secured more than this cutoff marks.

Preparation of Merit List

A merit list will be prepared for the candidates who get marks more than the JEE Main Cutoff 2022. The candidates whose names appear in this list will then be invited to participate in the counseling process conducted by JoSAA. The merit list will be prepared for the different category candidates separately.

JEE Main Counseling and Admission 2022

On the basis of the merit list drawn, the candidates will be called for counseling process. The schedule for the counseling will be communicated to the candidates through the official website. The candidates will have to register themselves for counseling and provide their choice for course and college. Depending on the choice made by the candidates and their ranking, they will be allotted a seat.

After the allotment of seat, the candidates must report to the allotted institute along with their original certificates. The document verification will be done at the institute only and after that, the candidates will have to pay the tuition fee to complete the admission formalities.

  1. I comes under OBC and I got 83.1 percentile in Jee Mains and wish to know what would be my rank and m I eligible for iit or niit?
