JEE Advanced 2017 : Important Dates, Application For, Eligibility etc.

JEE Advanced 2017 – The JEE Advanced 2017 exam will be conducted in the month of May 2017, probably in the 3rd week. The advanced exam will be conducted for the candidates who will qualify the Mains 2017 exam. The advanced jee-advanced-infoexam is conducted specifically for providing admissions to the IITs involved. The exam will be conducted by any one IIT on the behalf of all the others. The Advanced exam is the second stage of the JEE exam. The eligible candidates will have to apply for the exam through the online mode. Check all details about the JEE Advanced 2017 below.

JEE Advanced 2017 – Important Dates:

  • Online Registration begins: April 2017
  • Closing of Online registrations: May 2017 (1st week)
  • Availability of admit cards: May 2017 (2nd week)

JEE Advanced 2017 – Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam only if they satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria for the exam. Before filling the application form for the advanced exam, the candidates must check whether they satisfy all the eligibility conditions. It must be noted that the candidates who are not eligible to take the exam must not apply for the exam. The eligibility conditions for the JEE Advanced 2017 are given as follows.

  • From the result of the JEE Mains, the top 2 lakh candidates according to their AIR will be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced 2017.
  • The age of the candidate should not be more than 25 years.
  • The candidate must have passed the 12th class qualifying exam in the year 2016 or must be appearing in 2017.
  • A candidate can make a maximum of 2 attempts for the advanced exam, that too in consecutive years only.

JEE Advanced 2017 – Application Form:

The eligible candidates from the Mains exam will be required to submit the application form for the exam. The online registration for the advanced exam will start just after the result of Mains exam i.e. either in the ending of April 2017 or the beginning of May 2017. Candidates obtaining a score greater than the cut-off score for the Mains 2017 exam will be allowed to apply for the advanced exam. The steps to be followed to apply for the JEE 2017 Advanced exam are same as the Mains exam. These are as follows.

  1. Application form filling: The candidates will be required to fill out an application form for the JEE Advanced 2017, which will be made available at the official website. The final notification for the same has not yet been released but it shall soon be released by the official authorities and will be updated here.
  2. Uploading of Scanned documents: The candidates will be required to upload the scanned documents such as Photograph, signature and thumb impression in the specified formats. More information on the same shall be specified later.
  3. Payment of Exam Fee: The final step shall require the candidates to pay the fee for JEE Advanced 2017 via online modes such as credit/debit card or e-challan. The application fee is as follows.

JEE Advanced 2017 – Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of an exam tells about the internal structure of the question paper. It tells about the basic details of the exam such as the type of questions asked, the marking scheme followed etc. However, it is said that the exam pattern for the JEE Advanced 2017 may change. The authorities may start a subjective exam for the advanced exam from the year 2017. The decision is still pending and will be known soon. The exam pattern being followed till 2016 has been provided below. Any updates in the exam pattern made shall be notified here.

  • Total 2 papers will be put up for the JEE Advanced 2017 and both are compulsory.
  • The questions asked will be objective type questions and numerical type questions only.
  • The questions will be asked from the core subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.
  • The exam paper is available in 2 languages i.e. English and Hindi.

Paper-1 Pattern:

  • The Paper-1 will be of 264 marks.
  • The subjects will be PCM with 3 sections under all 3 subjects.
  • PHYSICS: Section-1 (8 Questions), Section-2 (10 Questions), Section-3 (2 Questions)
  • CHEMISTRY: Section-1 (8 Questions), Section-2 (10 Questions), Section-3 (2 Questions)
  • MATHS: Section-1 (8 Questions), Section-2 (10 Questions), Section-3 (2 Questions)
  • For Section-1, each question shall carry 4 marks and no negative marking has been induced.
  • For Section -2, each question shall carry 4 marks and negative marking is applicable where 2 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • For Section-3, each question will be of 2 marks and negative marking is applicable where 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

JEE Advanced 2017 – Paper-2 Pattern:

  • The Paper-2 will be of 240 marks.
  • The subjects will be PCM with 3 sections under all 3 subjects.
  • PHYSICS: Section-1 (8 Questions), Section-2 (8 Questions), Section-3 (2 Questions)
  • CHEMISTRY: Section-1 (8 Questions), Section-2 (8 Questions), Section-3 (2 Questions)
  • MATHS: Section-1 (8 Questions), Section-2 (8 Questions), Section-3 (2 Questions)
  • For Section-1, each question shall carry 4 marks and no negative marking has been induced.

JEE Advanced 2017 – Admit Card:

The admit card for the JEE Advanced 2017 exam will be released in the 2nd week of May 2017. It will be released around 1 week before the exam. The candidates will be required to download the admit card from the official website. The link is not yet available but it shall be posted here as soon as it will be known. The admit card is a very important document which shall be required at the time of the exam. Candidates appearing for the exam must essentially carry the admit card to the exam hall, otherwise, they shall not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

JEE Advanced 2017 – Result:

The result of the JEE Advanced 2017 exam shall be announced in the month of June 2017. After the release of the advanced result, the architecture aptitude test will be held. The result for the same shall also be uploaded on the official website. The link for the result shall also be posted here as soon as it is available. After the result will be declared, the counselling shall take place where the seat allotment will be done for the various IITs involved. More information about the result shall be posted here as soon as it will be notified by the official authorities.
