IIITH PGEE Syllabus 2022

Candidates preparing for IIITH PGEE entrance exam must make themselves familiar with the IIITH PGEE syllabus 2022. The syllabus will entail all the necessary topics that the candidates must study in order to clear the exam with flying colors. Through IIITH PGEE exam, candidates can enroll in various M.Tech/M.S/Ph.D programs offered by the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad. To fetch better result in the exam, candidates should make a preparation strategy keeping in mind the exam pattern and the PGEE syllabus prescribed by the authority.

IIITH PGEE Syllabus 2022

It is important for the applicants to go through the IIITH PGEE exam pattern as it will give them a brief idea of the structure of the exam. The exam will be conducted in offline mode and there will be a total of two paper in the exam i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I will be objective type and Paper-II will be a subjective one. Candidates should prepare for these papers as per the IIITH PGEE syllabus mentioned below-

Syllabus for Paper-I

The questions in this paper will be asked from the topics of General aptitude, logical reasoning, and basic questions on computers and mathematics. These topics are-

General aptitude: Number system, Square root, Cube root, Average, Percentage, Simplification, Problem on ages, etc.

Logical reasoning: Blood relation, seating arrangement, direction sense, clocks, calendar, number series etc.

Computers: Number system and base conversions, Database management, Computer network, Data algorithm and complexities, basics of Microprocessor, Basics of Computer organization etc.

Mathematics: engineering mathematics

Syllabus for Paper-II

The subjects for which candidates can appear for Paper-II are mathematics, computer science, electronics and communication engineering, structural engineering, computational natural sciences and bioinformatics, and computational linguistics.

Mathematics: Finite Dimensional Linear Vector Space, Group, Ring and Field, Real Analysis, Probability Theory, Complex Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equation, and Optimization.

Computer Science: Recursion, basic data structures (arrays, lists, stacks, and queues), basic algorithms (sorting and searching), Boolean algebra, digital building blocks (AND/OR/NAND/XOR gates), Karnaugh’s maps, computer organization, number systems, fundamental programming concepts, control Flow, functions, capability to write programs in C or C++, relational databases (functional dependencies, SQL), and computer networks .

Electronics and Communication Engineering: Network, electronic devices, analog circuits, digital circuits, control systems, signals and systems, probability theory and random processes, communication theory, digital signal processing, and electromagnetics.

Structural Engineering/Civil Engineering: Principal stresses, Mohrs circle, bending moments and shear forces in beams, stress and strain relations, simple bending theory, flexural and shear stresses, torsion, analysis of trusses and frames, matrix methods of structural analysis, working and limit state design concepts, design of compression members, beam, slab, footing, staircases, analysis of indeterminate structures by force/displacement methods, basic concepts of prestressed concrete, hydraulics and water resources engineering, engineering mathematics, geotechnical engineering etc.

Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics: Physics, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biology & bioinformatics.

Computational Linguistics: Morphology, word formation, word classes and parts of speech, lexicography, syntax, syntactic structure, dependency structure, grammar formalisms, semantics, lexical semantics, sentential semantics etc.
