The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts online exam to shortlist the candidates for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) in the participating organizations. Preliminary exam, main exam and interviews are conducted to shortlist the candidates for allotment. The application forms for IBPS PO 2021 can be submitted through online mode. The preliminary and main exams will also be conducted in online mode in the month of September and November respectively.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2021

Basic eligibility criteria to appear for IBPS PO exam 2021 have been discussed below.


A candidate must be either a

  • Citizen of India or
  • Subject of Nepal or
  • Subject of Bhutan or
  • Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  • Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

Age criteria:

The minimum and maximum age of the candidates should be between 20 and 30 years as on 1st August 2020.

Educational qualification:

A degree (graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government is required.

IBPS PO Application Form 2021

The application form for IBPS PO 2021 exam will be released on the official website www.ibps.in. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can proceed with the submission of application.

  1. To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their personal, academic, contact and other details as asked.
  2. Photograph and signature of the applicants in scanned format should be uploaded into the form as well.
  3. After providing all the important details into the application form, it can be submitted online on or before the last date.
  4. To complete the process of application, the candidates will also have to pay a requisite amount as application fee.
  5. A copy of the duly filled application form and fee receipt should be taken and kept safe for future reference.

Application fee:

  • Rs. 100/- for SC/ ST/ PWBD candidates
  • Rs. 600/- for other candidates

IBPS PO 2021 Admit Card

  • Candidates can download the admit card to appear in the IBPS PO exam from the official website.
  • Admit card for the preliminary exam is released for those who submit their applications successfully.
  • For main exam, the admit card is released only for the candidates who clear the preliminary exam successfully.
  • The admit card and a valid identity proof (original & photocopy) must be carried by the students reporting at the exam center.

  • An Interview of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted by the Participating Organizations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.
  • Interviews will be conducted at selected centers and the address of the venue, time & date of interview will be informed in the call letter.
  • The total marks allotted for interview are 100.
  • The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWBD candidates).
  • The weightage of main exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score of candidates will be calculated on the basis of scores obtained in the Main exam and interview.

IBPS PO Result 2021

  • The result of the IBPS PO preliminary and main exam will be tentatively released in the month of October and December 2020.
  • After clearing both these exams, the candidates will have to appear for the interview round.
  • Result of the interview is expected to be declared in the month of April 2021 after which provisional allotment will begin.
  • To check the result of the different rounds, the candidates will have to visit the official website of IBPS.


Question 1: What do I require in order to fill the application for the IBPS PO exam?

Answer: Keep the following documents ready before applying for the exam:

  • A valid email id and phone number
  • Scanned copies of your photograph, signature and left thumb impression
  • A hand written declaration as per the prescribed format
  • Necessary documents (debit card/ credit card) or net banking details for fee payment

Question 2: What documents do I need to send to the organizing committee?

Answer: No documents should be sent by the candidates to anyone and will only be required to be brought together while reporting for the interview round.

Question 3: Where can I find the details of my exam center?

Answer: Information related to the exam center and the exam timings will be communicated to the candidates through their admit card.

Question 4: Do I need to clear all the rounds to be eligible for provisional selection?

Answer: Not only clearing all the three rounds (pre, main and interview) is important but the candidates also need to clear section-wise cut-off of the main exam to be considered for provisional selection.

Question 5: How can I download my call letters for appearing in the exam?

Answer: The eligible candidate can download the call letter from the authorized IBPS website www.ibps.in by entering details like registration number and password/ date of birth.
