HPCET Exam Pattern- Exam Mode & Duration, Marking Scheme

HPCET Exam Pattern will familiarize the candidates with different aspect of the entrance exam. The candidates preparing for the exam are advised to go through the exam pattern in order to be mentally ready for the exam. The exam pattern will acquaint them with the exam duration, mode and medium of exam, type of questions asked, marking scheme, etc. All these information can help the candidates in understanding their exam better and preparing for it in an improved manner. In addition to the exam pattern, the knowledge of HPCET Syllabus is equally important for the aspiring candidates.

HPCET Exam Pattern

The candidates can check below the basic as well as course-wise exam pattern for HPCET exam.

Basic HPCET Exam Pattern

  • Duration of the exam: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours for B.Tech, B.Pharmacy, M.Tech, and M.Pharmacy. For MBA and MCA entrance test, duration will be 2 hours.
  • Mode of the exam: The exam will be conducted as a pen and paper-based test or say in offline mode.
  • Question paper language: The questions will be asked only in English language.
  • Total questions: A total of 100 questions will be asked in the exam, except for B.Tech and B.Pharmacy paper where 150 questions will be asked.
  • Type of questions: All the questions asked in the paper will be of objective type.
  • Total marks: The paper will carry a total of 200 marks, except for B.Tech and B.Pharmacy paper which will carry 100 marks.
  • Marking scheme: For each right answer, 2 marks will be awarded to the candidates.
  • Negative marking:25 marks will be deducted for each answer marked wrong.
