The candidates hoping to appear for the Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test will have to submit the HPCET application form. The interested candidates who also meet the HPCET Eligibility Criteria can fill and submit their application. Along with the form, the candidates will also have to submit a prescribed amount of application fee. The application form has bene released now. The candidates who successfully submit their application in time will be able to download the HPCET Admit Card and appear for the exam.
Steps to fill the HPCET Application Form
All candidates have to apply online on the prescribed application form available on the University website www.himtu.ac.in. The steps to fill the form are given in detail below.
Step 1: Registration
At first, the candidates will have to register themselves for the entrance exam. Go to the official website and click on the ‘Click Here to Apply for HPCET’ button. Now click on the ‘I have downloaded the information bulletin and read all the instructions’ checkbox and then click on the button ‘Proceed to Apply Online’. The registration form will appear on the screen.
Into the registration form, enter the details such as name, username, password, date of birth, email id and mobile number. After that, click on the ‘Create Account’ button. The system will generate a unique form number which will be sent on the email address provided during the registration. The candidates should keep their form number, user name & password safe for future reference.
Step 2: Candidate Login
The candidates will then have to login again to fill their application form. The candidates will have to fill their basic details into the form, verify their mail and upload their photograph and signature. The basic details include the following:
Name Of The Candidate, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Aadhaar Number, Nationality, Sex, Programme Applied For, Branch, Examination Centre, Bonafide/ Domicile Of Himachal, Category, Sub-Category, Date Of Birth, Valid E-Mail Id, Mobile Number, Qualifying Exam, Result, Percentage In Qualifying Examination, Permanent Address And Correspondence Address
Step 3: Verification of registered email
The next step will be the verification of the registered email id. To verify the email address filled in the registration form, an OTP will be sent to the registered email id. On entering the OTP, the candidates will get a message on the screen ‘Email verified successfully’
Step 4: Uploading of photograph and signature
The next step will be the uploading of the photograph and signature into the form. These documents should be uploaded in scanned format with the following specifications:

Step 5: Confirmation and submission of form
The candidates will be given two options- to edit the form or to submit it and move towards fee payment. Click on the ‘edit’ button to make changes to the form and/ or ‘submit and go for payment’ button after you make the correction or you do not want to make any changes.
Step 6: Payment of application fee
After submission of the form, the ‘Click here to get Fee Payment Link’ button will appear on the screen. The candidates will be able to make payment ion either online or offline mode by selecting the appropriate link.
Offline fee payment can be done through PNB Challan and online through net banking/ credit card/ debit card. Those who submit the fee through Challan should login into their account after 24 hours of fee submission and update the payment details into their form.
In case your fee has been debited from your account and you are not able to get the PDF you may send the payment detail such as form number, amount of payment made, transaction number and date on email ID [email protected]. You can also repay the fee to get the PDF. In case multiple payments are made, the additional amount will be reversed back to the account.

Note: The application fee once paid will not be refunded in any case
Step 7: Sending hard copy of the application
After the online form submission for HPCET is done, the candidates must also send a scanned copy of printed application form must be send through email at [email protected] or submit the copy of application form in PDF format to the office of the ‘Controller of Examination Himachal Pradesh Technical University Hamirpur (H.P.) 177001’ within a week after its generation.
Important Notes
- The submission of the application form must be done in both online and offline mode.
- The candidates must fill the application form in all respect carefully and check the same before submitting it.
- Incomplete application form will be rejected and no correspondence will be made in this regard.
- Application form submitted after the prescribed date is over will not be accepted under any circumstances.
