GCET 2022: Application Form (Starts from 23 May), Exam Date, Syllabus

The Directorate of Technical Education, Goa will conduct the Goa Common Entrance Test 2022 or GCET 2022. This is a state level which offers the admission to various UG courses in the field of science, technology, pharmacy etc. The application form for GCET 2022 will start receiving from 23rd May 2022. The candidates need to submit the application form only in offline mode before the last date. However, the application form will be accepted for a few days after the last date with a late fee of Rs. 1500/-.

GCET 2022 application form will be released on 23rd May 2022.

GCET 2022 will be held on 11th and 12th May 2022 for admission to BE and BPharm courses.

MBBS, BDS, BHMS (Homeopathy), BAMS (Ayurveda), Allied Health Sciences (Paramedical), BSc in Nursing & BVSc and A.H courses- based on NEET 2022 score.

GCET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for GCET 2022 will be as follows:

Nationality:

  • All Indian citizens are eligible to apply for GCET 2022 exam.
  • NRI/ OCI/ PIO candidate will be allowed to apply under NRI category.

For 1st year B.E

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of the Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology subjects.
  • It is also mandatory that the candidate must have secured at least 45% (40% for SC/ST and OBC candidates) aggregate marks in physics, mathematics and any one of the Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology subjects.

For 1st year B.Pharma

  • The applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with English, Physics and chemistry as the compulsory subjects and any one of the Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology subjects.
  • The candidate must also have at least 45% (40% for SC/ST and OBC candidates) aggregate marks in the above mentioned subjects.

GCET 2022 Application Form

The application form for GCET 2022 will be submitted only in offline mode. The candidates can download the application form from the official website. After download the application form, the candidates have to fill it in a neat and clean handwriting. A photograph of the candidates also requires to be affixed on the application form. The candidates have to submit the application form along with the demand draft of application fee and all the relevant documents to the DTE office.

It is advised that the candidates should keep a copy of the submitted application form with them for future requirement.

GCET Application Fee 2022

The GCET 2022 application fee will be Rs. 1800/- for every candidate.

Mode of payment

  • The applicants can pay the application fee via Demand Draft.
  • The Demand draft should be drawn in favour of Director of Technical Education” payable at Panaji, Goa.

GCET 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for GCET 2022 will be as follows:

Mode of Exam: Offline (Pen and Paper Based Exam)

Type of Questions: Multiple choice questions will be asked

Number of Questions: 225

Medium of Exam: English only

Sections: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Duration of Exam: 6 Hours (2 Hours for each section)

Marking Scheme:  1 Mark will be given for a correct answer

Negative Marking: Not applicable.

GCET Syllabus 2022

The syllabus for GCET 2022 will be as per the curriculum of class 12th (Science) of Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim. Important topics from each subject are as follows:

Physics: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic effects Of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, Communication Systems Etc.

Chemistry: Solid State, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, General Principles And Processes Of Isolation Of Elements, D And F Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Alcohols, Phenols And Ethers, aldehydes, ketones and Carboxylic Acids, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen Etc.

Mathematics: Relations and Functions, Algebra, Calculus, Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry, Linear Programming, Probability Etc.

GCET 2022 Preparation Strategy

Here are some tips and tricks that can help the candidates for GCET preparation.

  1. First of all, collect the good quality study material for the GCET exam.
  2. Make a proper time table with realistic daily, weekly and monthly goals.
  3. Identity the topics in which you are weak and spend more time and energy on those topics.
  4. Solve previous year’s question papers and mock test to be more familiar with the exam pattern.
  5. Make short notes of numerical formulas which you can revise at the time of exam.
  6. There is no need to take stress. You should start your preparation with full spirit by keeping yourself away from anxieties.

GCET 2022 Admit Card

The candidates who will successfully submit their application form along with the application fee can get their admit card. The admit card will be issued to the applicants in person after submitting the application form. The details such as roll no, exam date, time and venue will be mentioned on the admit card.  It will be mandatory for every candidate to carry the admit card at the time of exam.

GCET 2022 Result

The result of GCET 2022 will be made available on the official website and Notice Board of Director of Technical Education. It should be noted that no individual score card will be issued by the authorities. It is expected that the result will be declared in the 2nd week of May 2022.

GCET 2022 Counselling

After the declaration of result, the candidates have to fill admission form i.e. Form A, Form B or Form C as per the desired course. After the submission of admission form, the merit list of the shortlisted candidates will be released. The candidates getting their name in the merit list will be called for the 1st round of admission counselling. The aspirants have to enter their choice of college and course at the time of counseling. The admission will be confirmed after the verification of original documents.
