CUCET Eligibility criteria: The Central Universities has decided some eligibility norms for the candidates who are going to apply for the CUCET examination. It is mandatory for all candidates to satisfy the required eligibility conditions to participate in CUCET. The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is a national level entrance examination conducted by the 10 central universities on the rotation basis. The CUCET score will be considered for admission various UG/Integrated, PG & Research programmes offered by the Central Universities (CUs) including Jammu, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, South Bihar, and Dr. BR Ambedkar School of Economics. Interested candidates who are willing to appear in CUCET should ensure their eligibility before filling the CUCET application form.  In this article, we are providing all important details about CUCET eligibility criteria such as academic qualification, age limit, qualifying percentile etc.

CUCET Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria of CUCET will be varied for different universities. So, candidates are advised to check the university-wise eligibility criteria from the official website of the participating central University.  Candidates can check the basic eligibility norms below in the points.

Nationality: Indian nationals can apply for the exam.

Academic qualification (in general):

Courses Required qualification
UG Courses Candidates must have passed 12th examination from a recognized school to get admission in the Bachelor’s degree programme in the Central Universities.
PG Courses Should possess a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized University.
PhD (Research programme) Must have a Master’s degree from a recognized university or Institute

Appearing students: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply. However, they have to produce the mark sheet/degree about their fulfilling the eligibility criteria at the time of admission counselling.  Failing in which, their admission will be cancelled.

University-wise Eligibility Criteria

As there are different conditions in different participating central University for the same academic programme so candidates should check the eligibility norms from the official website of central universities. Below we are also listing CUCET university wise eligibility criteria for different courses for the reference of candidates.

Central Universities Programmes Eligibility Criteria
Central University of Haryana PG courses Should possess a Bachelor’s degree
M.Phil courses Candidate should hold a master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD)
Ph. D courses Must possess M.Phil degree

Or

Should qualified the UGC/ NET / CSIR-JRF or SLET (Equivalent to NET/JRF as per UGC norms) or a done Teacher Fellowship

Or

Candidate must be Teacher in a constituent/affiliated college/department of the university & research experience for minimum of 2 years

OR

In-service candidate with three years’ experience and has master’s degree with minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in the relevant subjects can also apply

Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi PG Programmes Candidates must have the Bachelor’s Degree
Ph. D courses Master’s degree is necessary in any stream
Central University of Jammu PG courses Should completed a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST categories)
M.Phil/ Ph. D courses Master’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for candidates from SC/ST categories)
Integrated courses 10 +2 or equivalent examination
Central University of Kerala UG courses Must have done 10 +2 examination/equivalent

Age bar: The age of candidates should not more than 19 years as on 1 July, 2019

PG courses Should possess Bachelor’s Degree

Age Limit: The age of candidates should not exceed 25 years of age as on 1 July, 2020

Central University of South Bihar Integrated course Candidate must be passed 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized board
PG course Bachelor’s Degree
M.Phil courses Candidate should done the Master’s degree
PG Diploma courses Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s degree
Central University of Kashmir Integrated Programs Must be passed 10 +2 or equivalent examination
PG Programmes Candidate should have done Bachelor’s Degree
M.Phil/ Ph. D Programs Aspirants should have completed the master’s degree
Ph. D courses Should have completed Master’s degree
Central University of Tamil Nadu Integrated Programs Candidates must be passed 10 +2 or equivalent examination
PG Programmes Should possess a Bachelor’s Degree
Ph. D courses Master’s degree
Bengaluru Dr. B R Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) Integrated M. A. in
Economics
Pass 10+2 in any discipline or equivalent of any recognized board in India.
