CG PET Eligibility Criteria: Age, Academic Criteria, Qualification

CG PET Eligibility Criteria will familiarize the candidates with minimum requirements that must be fulfilled by them if they wish to appear for the exam. The criteria will be mentioned in terms of age limit, qualifying exam and minimum required marks. Only the candidates clearing the entrance exam and satisfying all the eligibility criteria will be considered for the final admissions. It is important for the candidates to make sure of the eligibility before they fill their application form.

The eligibility criteria for different courses for which the entrance exam will be conducted are given in detail below. The candidates are advised to go through it before they submit their application form.

Academic qualification:

Undergraduate courses:

  • BE/ B.Tech: The candidates who have passed their class 12th exam from a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject and minimum score of 45% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) are eligible. A pass in these subjects individually is also required.
  • Tech (Biotechnology): The candidates should have cleared their class 12th with Physics, Biology/ Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject and minimum score of 45% (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) are eligible. The candidates should have also passed individually in these subjects.
  • Arch: A pass in 10+2 or 3-year diploma with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) and Mathematics as a subject is required. Qualifying a national level architecture test (NATA/ JEE (Main) Paper 2) is also mandatory.

Postgraduate courses:

  • ME/ M.Tech: The applicants should clear their BE/ B.Tech degree course in the relevant branch with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) in order to be eligible.
  • Pharma: Those who have passed 4-year degree course in Pharmacy from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) can apply.
  • MBA: A 3-year bachelor’s degree programme in any stream or 5-year integrated course with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) is required.
  • MCA: A 3-year bachelor’s degree programme in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) is required. Mathematics as a subject at 12th or degree level is also required.

Diploma courses:

  • Diploma in Engineering: The candidates who have passed their 10th exam with Mathematics and Science subjects scoring at least 35% marks (passing marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) are eligible. Passing in the Mathematics and Science subjects individually is also required.
  • Pharma and Diploma in Pharmacy: Those who have passed their class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology and at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) are eligible for 4-year B.Pharmacy and 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy. An individual pass in these subjects is also compulsory. English as a subject in class 12th is also mandatory for admissions in B.Pharmacy.
  • Diploma in Costume Design & Dress Making (CDDM): The candidates should have passed their class 10th exam from a recognized board with at least 35% aggregate marks (passing marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates).
  • Diploma in Interior Design & Decoration: The applicants should have passed their class 12th exam from a recognized board with at least 35% aggregate marks (passing marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates).
  • Diploma in Modern Office Management: The candidates who have passed their class 12th exam from a recognized board with at least 35% aggregate marks (passing marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) can apply.
  • Diploma in Architecture: Those who have passed their class 12th exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and at least 35% aggregate marks (passing marks for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) are eligible. A pass in the subject of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually is also mandatory.

Lateral entry courses:

  • BE (lateral entry): A pass in 3-year Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc from a recognized institute with 45% marks in aggregate or in final year at least (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates) is required. The B.Sc candidates must have passed in Mathematics at 12th level and such candidates will only be considered for the seats left after filling diploma candidates.
  • Pharma (lateral entry): The candidates should have passed 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institute with 45% marks in aggregate or in final year at least (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates).
  • Diploma in Engineering and Diploma in CDDM (lateral entry): A pass in 12th in Science stream (with Mathematics as compulsory subject) and/ or vocational/ technical subject is required. The applicants who have completed their 10th and 2-year ITI in relevant vocational/ technical subject after that are also eligible.
  • MCA (lateral entry): The candidates should have passed their 3-year BCA/ B.Sc (CS/ IT) from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates). A pass in Mathematics subject in class 12th is also mandatory.

Important Note:

  • The candidates who will be appearing in the qualifying exam in the year 2022 are also considered as eligible.
  • The SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates mentioned above are only those SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates who belong to the state of Chhattisgarh.
  • Upper age limit for MCA in Pt. Ravishankar University is 27 years (30 years for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ Female candidates).
  • The age limit will not be applicable for sponsored/ sponsored foreign and recommended candidates of ant state/ central government offices.
