CENTAC MCA 2023: Application Form, Important Dates, Eligibility Criteria

The Pondicherry Engineering College conduct an entrance examination named CENTAC MCA 2023 and takes the most eligible candidates into the college through admission. The college schedules this examination on yearly basis to fill a definite No. of seats. Last year there were 23 seats under Pondicherry quota & 7 seats were for all other states of the country. CENTAC MCA 2023 is a gateway for those candidates who wish to groom their career in Computer application. The selected candidates will get admission in MCA program at Pondicherry Engineering College.

CENTAC MCA 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should check the eligibilities set by the examination authority. It is mandatory because a candidate will only be allowed to apply for the examination if he/she fulfils the requirements decided by the authority. The criteria to apply for are-

• The candidates who have scored minimum 55% marks in these examinations will be considered as eligible to apply for CENTAC MCA 2023. These examinations are- Bachelor of Computer Applications/ Corporate Secretaryship/ Commerce/ Economics/ Business Administration (with Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications as a subject).

OR

• Bachelor degree in Science with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects. To apply for the examination, the candidates need to have a degree either in BCA, B.Sc etc. from a recognized university. It is mandatory to have Mathematics in Higher Secondary standard.
• The candidates should be an Indian national (except for French nationals who are residing in Pondicherry as long as they are covered under the Treaty of Cession).

How to Apply for CENTAC MCA 2023?

The application forms can be obtained in both the ways, online & offline. In offline mode the candidates can purchase the application form from the college itself. Once you fill the application form with genuine details as required in the form, you need to send it along with Demand Draft and other necessary documents at below mentioned address. The application form can also be submitted directly at the university office. The address is-

On the other hand, for online mode the candidates have to visit the official website of the university. From the website you can submit the application form after filling it completely. In online mode, there is no need to send the hard copy of the application form.

The application fee is Rs. 1030/- for General candidates and Rs. 530/- for reserved categories. The application fee can be paid through online mode via debit/credit card or net banking. There is one more way to pay the application fee which is through Demand Draft. In this mode, the General category candidates have to pay Rs. 1000/- (along with Rs. 65/- as postal charges) and Rs. 500/- for reserved categories (along with Rs. 65/- as postal charges). The application fee through Demand Draft can be paid in favor of Convenor, CENTAC-PG payable at Puducherry.

Examination Pattern

All the candidates should read the examination patter to plan the study accordingly.

• The question paper will have 5 sections- Mathematics, Analytical Ability, Logical Reasoning, Comprehensive Verbal ability & Genera Awareness in computer science.
• There will be total 90 questions of MCQ type.
• The duration of the entrance examination will be 2 hours.
• The candidates will get 4 marks on each correct answer and the penalty for wrong answers will be 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

CENTAC MCA 2023 Syllabus

The question paper will be set for CENTAC MCA CET 2023 under the guidance of the examination authority. The syllabus will cover the subjects of Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Analytical Ability, Comprehension Verbal Ability & General Awareness in Computer Science. The candidates can follow previous years’ questions paper to get an idea about the question paper pattern.

Admit Card

Do not forget to download the admit card as it is a must needed document for examination. The authority will release the hall tickets before few week of examination day. All the candidates must present at the examination venue along with their admit cards & a photo ID proof. It is advised to the candidates to be at the examination venue at least 30 minutes before.

Result Declaration

On successful completion of the entrance examination, the authority will publish the result. The candidates again need to login to the official website of the University to check the result. You can also download the score card to be used for future stages of CENTAC MCA 2023 admissions.

CENTAC MCA 2023 Counselling

The admission will be provided to the eligible candidates on these parameters- merit scores by the candidates & No. of seats available at the time of counseling. All the admissions provided to the candidates will be provisional and will only be confirmed once it is approved by the Pondicherry University. The shortlisted candidates for counseling will get the call letters updated at the official website. The selected candidates also have to pay Rs. 1100/- as counseling fee (Rs. 550/- for reserved categories) to be paid through Demand Draft. Last but not the least is to bring all the original documents at the time of counseling for verification.
