CENTAC 2022: Application, Syllabus, Dates, Exam Pattern

CENTAC 2022 is a counselling process that is conducted by the Centralized Admission Committee (CAC), Puducherry for granting admission to the candidates in various UG courses offered by the government colleges in Puducherry and other states/UTs. The counselling is conducted for admission to courses such as engineering, medical, law, architecture, pharmacy etc. Candidates can appear for the counselling only by applying for the same through the official website.

CAC is the counselling conducting body that doesn’t organize the entrance examination but holds the counselling for those examinations. Medical/dental aspirants must qualify the NEET exam before applying for the CENTAC 2022. For complete details on the counselling, candidates can go through the information given in the article.

Eligibility Criteria for CENTAC 2022

The eligibility criteria for CENTAC is as follows-

Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply for the CENTAC exam. However, French nationals residing in Puducherry and covered by the treaty of Cession will be treated on par with Indian Nationals.

Age Criteria:

  • An applicant must be minimum 17 years old for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Sc/B.V.Sc/ B.P.T courses.
  • The age of B.Tech aspirants should not be more than 21 years old as on 31st December 2022.
  • There is no age limitation for LLB/BA LLB/B.Pharm/B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Course.
Course Educational Qualification
B.Tech Applicants must have passed class 12th with Physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of the subjects Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer science by obtaining at least 45% marks.
B.Pharma Applicants should have cleared class 12th with physics and chemistry as compulsory subjects and any one of the subjects Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer science. They should have scored minimum 45% marks in H.Sc exam.
MBBS/BDS Applicants should have passed H.Sc exam or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English as compulsory subjects and any one of the following subjects Biology/Biotechnology by securing minimum 50% marks. NEET is mandatory for medical aspirants.
BAMS Applicants should have passed H.Sc exam or its equivalent with PCB subject group and have scored at least 45% marks. They also should have scored individual passing marks in these subjects and in English.
BA LLB Applicants should have cleared H.Sc exam with minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) from a recognized board

CENTAC 2022 Application Form

The application form for CENTAC 2022 counselling will be available on the official website. Applicants need to register themselves to appear in the counselling that will be conducted online. They need to provide their basic details such as name, DOB, address, HSC registration number, mobile number, email id etc. After successfully registration, applicants need to login into the website using their email id or mobile no. and password to fill the online application form.

Applicants must make sure to provide accurate information and review it before making the final submission of the same. They should keep the relevant certificates ready in scanned form as they will be asked to upload it during the form filling part. It is mandatory for all the aspirants to pay a requisite amount in form of the counselling fee without which their applications will be rejected.

The application cum counselling fee can be paid through the Demand draft drawn in favour of “The coordinator, CENTAC” payable at Puducherry or through debit card/credit card/net banking.

Note: Only those candidates can opt for payment through Demand Draft who have chosen the courses from group-IV and group-VI.

CENTAC 2022 Result and Counselling

The authorities will announce the result of CENTAC 2022 on its official website. Applicants can see their result by login into the website using their Email ID and Password. The committee will conduct the counselling from the last week of June. Applicants will go through the document verification phase before the commencement of counselling. They should bring their original documents along with the photocopies of the same at venue decided by the committee.

Shortlisted candidates will be called to attend the counselling where they need to indicate their preference for college and course. The committee then will allot a seat to the candidates based on the number of parameters such as choice indicated during counselling, availability of seats, merit rank of the candidates etc. if the candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to him/her then he/she may sit for another round of counselling . On being satisfied with the allotted seat, a candidate then needs to report to the concerned college and finish the admission formalities.
